According to Turkish media, Ankara halted the flights of its aviation over Syria.

ANKARA – Turkey has suspended its Air Force flights over Syria in the international coalition campaign in the fight against the Islamic State after the downing of the Russian Su-24 Fencer bomber, Turkey's Hurriyet newspaper reported Friday, citing diplomatic sources.

On Tuesday, a Turkish Air Force F-16 downed the Russian bomber 4 kilometers from the Turkish border. Both the Russian General Staff and the Syrian Air Defense Command confirmed that the Su-24 never crossed into Turkish airspace and was shot down over Syrian territory, citing precise objective control data.

The Carrot...

"...was in fact a mutual decision taken with Russia, which also halted its aerial campaigns near the Turkish border. Both parties will continue to be as careful as possible in a bid to avoid a repetition of such incidents until they re-establish dialogue channels to reduce the tension."

The Stick...

Honestly, I think Turkey wants to do the same for the Turkmen in Northern Syria .. Turkey will invade Syria if that happens.

Right now, they are being politically held back.

If Russia continues pounding the border areas, we’ll know the following statement from Turkish authorities was just an attempt to save face. The Turkish Air Force is said to be pretty competent and could, in theory, take out the small number of Russian SAM batteries in Syria. The question is whether they could do so without incurring significant losses (e.g. a dozen front-line aircraft), and whether they’re willing to bear those losses. Going forward, they’d have to continue hammering any new Russian SAM installations that pop up. Given that SAMs are lot cheaper than fighter aircraft, the only way Turkey could prevent the stationing of replacement batteries would be to invade and occupy Syria. The thousands of Russian ground troops in Syria are a potent tripwire. Is Turkey willing to go to war with Russia in order to keep its aircraft safe from Russian SAMs while flying over Syria? Rationally, I don’t see the Turks going any further. I expect we have seen the last of Turkish air attacks against Kurdish targets in Syria.

Sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, stressed that the suspension of the Turkish jetfighters’ participation in the U.S.-led military operations against ISIL was in fact a mutual decision taken with Russia, which also halted its aerial campaigns near the Turkish border. Both parties will continue to be as careful as possible in a bid to avoid a repetition of such incidents until they re-establish dialogue channels to reduce the tension.

You’re not serious, right? “Violating airspace” is grounds for destroying an aircraft and killing its crew?

Not really: there are several hundred steps including diplomatic protests, fighter escorts, raising the issue to international courts, and more before you turn to destroying stuff.

That’s known as “an act of war”.

“Kurdish forces controlling Kurdish region in northern Syria warned Turkey not to violate its airspace and promised response in case of breaching of Kurdish airspace.”

It didn’t start just now. It was already at the stage of Turkey calling Russian Ambassador to answer about the frequent airspace violations in the beginning of October - http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/06/nato-chief-jens-stoltenberg-russia-turkish-airspace-violations-syria

You amuse me, actually.
The people who insist Islam is nothing bad haven’t the guts to go prove it personally.
Just like the people protesting our fighting Al-Qeada didn’t have the guts to go offer themselves as hostages to prove that Al-Qeada weren’t so bad.
(Al-Qeada and ISIS both follow the Quranic commands better than most “moderate” muslims. Just so you know.)

Seems like the whole Muslim world is already showing up in Iraq and Syria to fight for the Caliphate. With that huge distraction now may be the time to take Constantinople and the entry to the Black Sea for Russia and entry to Europe for the Muslim invasion.
