Darrell Scott, the pastor of the New Spirit Revival Center in Ohio, helped organize the coalition of religious leaders and said that after meeting Mr. Trump in person he was convinced that Mr. Trump was the candidate best suited to be president. He also said that the public portrayals of Mr. Trump as a racist and demagogue seemed unfounded after they spoke.
"I was looking for some subtle hints of racism," Mr. Scott said. "I didn't see it at all."
Mr. Scott, who said he was a registered Democrat who had voted for President Obama, said that he had been impressed by Mr. Trump as a leader and that he liked his ideas for improving the economy. He said that when he closed his eyes and listened to all the candidates, he found Mr. Trump to be the most appealing.
Mr. Trump has struggled to connect with some social conservatives because of his flashy lifestyle and the fact that he has held liberal views on some issues. But Mr. Scott said that he found Mr. Trump to be humble before God when they prayed together and that he had confidence in his faith.

Because you are blinkered.
He has given thousands of $$ to Republicans.
He’s been friendly with the Reagans.
Does that help?
Don’t care what you believe...
Oh I bet he will eventually do that; he does LOVE this country, our military, and has a special part of his heart for those who have suffered/are in pain due to the whole Obama cockup.
You really should, because I’m not alone is seeing you for exactly what and who you are. LOL
If you’ve got a better explanation for his donations to Pelosi I’d like to hear it.
You also might try switching to decaf...:^)
And unbecoming of FreeRepublic.
Folks like yourself...dragging fellow FReeper's down....like a pack of barracuda's on a tuna carcass.
What the hell is wrong with you folks?
I've been here along time...but this type of BS...makes me want to quit giving to FR...and even reading here.
I am going to ask you for a source for his Pelosi contribution...but I am guessing I will never hear from you again.
Blame it on the German work ethic. Had a family picture duplicated to give the next generation a picture of my grand mothers grand parents on their fiftieth anniversary. His grandparents were German farmers who signed the Bradford Accord (Declaration was pattern from it) and fought in the revolutionary war under Washington.
Next to my great grandmother is her sister Julia Trump.
These families were hard working , high moral, intelligent people
Trumps branch of the family came to America via his grandparents. His grandmother was widowed with three young children. 11 -7. She made sure they were all educated. Fred her oldest, Donald’s father. Went to Trade school while still in high school (He also worked part time).
That branch of he family tree was the American Dream on steroids. It went from poor widow to multiBillionaire in three generations.
Sadly, not when a politician does it.
Large businesses learn to give to all sides and to hire lobbyists to keep from ending up "under investigation" for whatever reason.
That's not what you posted before. You said, "He gave it so they would not harm his business interests."
Nice place you have here. Be a shame if something happened to it.
LOL...>I’ve been here longer than you have, but obviously, you don’t remember what every single primary and election season is like on this site!
You have no idea who and what I am.........
They were in a dramatic decline. Fine company, fine trucks...crappy management at that time. Had a jerk from one of the big eight (at that time) accounting firms as CFO (from Pittsburgh IIRC). Everyone hated the guy.
My conclusion is this. The product isn't the management or the stockholders. The product is the designers/engineers and those who put their time in every day in building it.
It's a lot like war.
OTOH.....you don't know who I am, who I know, what I know, or much of anything else; didums.
“Trump did not give money to Clintons to gain favors. He gave it so they would not harm his business interests.
“There’s a difference?
“I don’t see it...
.....................
Just ask Microsoft. They learned that same lesson and paid a heavy price for it. Now they give generously as protection money.
Trump has vowed to throw out illegals. He has a plan to reject Syrian terrorists.
Here’s your tagline: “I’m a bigot...because I don’t want Muslims coming to America...”
Trump is perfectly aligning with your tagline. What more do you want?
You started it when you bashed Trump.
Sir, NOT “so be it!”
You need to take a chill pill! Like many, your INSTINCTIVE idea of a comment on what somebody writes IN ON FR is to INSULT.
I’m not talking about “bribery” and I resent such an uninformed and false accusation being broadcast to untold thousands of people particularly when coming from an anonymous person behind a keyboard somewhere in the world.
A “Legal” political donation is not a bribe. Perhaps it needs to be but it is not. Seek counseling soon!
Any real estate developer donating ONLY to one political faction will not get his project(s) approved and will not be a developer long, ergo your comment about Trump donating to Democrats in a overwhelmingly Democratic town shows a fundamental lack of knowledge about the subject and about Mr. Trump.
