After a brief turn at the top of the Republican presidential field, Ben Carson has returned to second-place behind front-runner Donald Trump. Such is not the case in Maryland, however, where Carson spent nearly three decades as the lead neurosurgeon at Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Hospital.
According to a University of Baltimore/Baltimore Sun poll released Tuesday evening, Carson tops the GOP field in Maryland with 27 percent support among likely Republican voters in the state.
Trump, the outspoken billionaire who regained his edge in national and early primary state polls following the terror attacks in Paris, trails Carson by four percentage points in the Old Line State, well within the poll's 5.6 percent margin of error.

Maryland the one party state.
Carson is the gardener in Being There.
This is just local pride from a state last carried by the GOP in the 1988 blowout of 40 states. Had it been only a 38 state blowout, then Maryland would’ve been one of the 12.
Maryland should be a Jeb sort of state, huh?
Our Saturday straw poll at the Pubbie state convention was a Cruz victory. Trump and Rubio also did well.

Maryland has gone to hell in a handbag for far too many years. Washington D.C. is built on Maryland soil. You can believe the infection has spread from there and the disease continues to spread. Look at Virginia.
1) It’s Carson’s home state.
2) Fewer than 9000 Republicans still live there.
I suspect as Carson continues to fall nationally & Trump continues to rise, Maryland’s numbers will fall in line & Trump will prevail. National security is the dominate factor in choosing the president & Trump is perceived as the strongest candidate.
Our governor is republican
Nice people in the panhandle and on the Eastern Shore. But I still find it amazing that Dukakis carried Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa but not Maryland.
Lol there are a million registered republicans in maryland.
Carson wont even be in the race by that time.
Maybe they think Carson will build a few pyramids and have the guarded by the Nation of Islam. Anyone who thinks Carson is actually ahead of Trump anywhere please raise your hand. Thought so.
Too much stock is being placed in these polls. One has Trump way up, another Carson. They are worth very little. No one is “winning”. No one is “ahead”.

True but let a ‘Red’ State have an R for a Governor for the last ???? years in memory then when a WOMAN or BLACK is the candidate, the ‘other’ side wins????
See where it looks like ‘you’ will be blessed with the ‘DA’ and her husband in power for a long time.
All SHE(they) have to do now is figure how to ‘Hang’ the Whites and dismiss the Blacks involved in the F Brown case.
Of course, not letting them change the venue should allow the State/City the opportunity of not holding a trial.
Hate to say it (really) but look at Baltimore when you want to place Women, Black, Liberal in power.
Of course, some systems are so ingrained in corruption that it really doesn’t matter who is on top...turn into a fall guy/gal when convenient.
You would think at some point in time; Jeb and those below him and slightly above him in the Poll’s would get out of the race, if for no other reason to be saved from endless embarrassment.

He’s fading at this very moment. His supporters will be absorbed mostly by Cruz.
