Sarah Palin on Potential ’16 Endorsement: Immigration ‘Huge on My List’
Breitbart ^ | November 24, 2015 | by TONY LEE

Posted on 11/24/2015 5:23:55 PM PST by Hojczyk

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said where GOP candidates stand on amnesty and immigration will be “huge” in determining which candidate she potentially endorses in this election cycle if she decides to make an endorsement that may well determine who will win the GOP presidential nomination.

Palin praised Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)82% —who is the top champion of American workers in Congress—saying that he is “so good on immigration.” She added that it is probably “his number one issue that he thinks is most impacting on the future of America.”

“He’s going to pick one candidate who’s strongest on that issue and that is probably the person he’ll give the most attention to,” Palin said. “And immigration is huge on my list.”

But Palin added that so is the “understanding of what the federal government’s role is to be in our lives and… protecting our Constitution in order to rein in our government.”

She also said that “character counts” and any person she endorses has to “have good character in order to understand and receive what it is our Constitution intended for us.”

“They can’t be so selfish as to interpret the Constitution as some living, breathing document that they—because they are so smart and elite and have some kind of degree with their name hanging up on the wall—[are] going to change… in order to meet their own selfish priorities,”

Palin said. “No, our Founding Fathers knew what they were talking about… they documented those elements of freedom… that keep us free there in the Constitution, so I’m going to find somebody with good character who knows how to protect the Constitution and get us on the right track.”

She’s toast if she endorses McCain again.

Immigration 'Huge on My List'

She didn't say 'Yuge on My List'. That means she's endorsing Cruz.

Mine too, the only acceptable candidates are Cruz and Trump and I feel Trump is the most electable.

Yeah well, we “read” between the lines in 2010 too and she still pulled McStain over the finish line.

Blech. McCain. (Never quite figured out wth she shared his ticket, in the first place.) Oh, well.

She waits so long that her endorsements are meaningless, with the base already well locked in with their respective candidate.

It’s unnecessary to endorse and saves a lot of headaches. As for the general election, opponents just use her endorsement against our candidate. Who needs the trouble?
I think even she finally figured that out. Bless her heart.

Let's see: Amnesty and immigration, praises Sessions, understanding and protecting the Constitution, character, unselfish and honor of the founders, Hmmm who could that be?

I think there is one candidate that fits those qualifications like a glove fits a hand.

That of course is Senator Ted Cruz!

Actually, if she wants to shoot a RINO she should endorse both Bush & Rubio. The GrOP-E hate her so much they’d never vote for either of them after that

I'll mention for my fellow FReepers that Gov. Sarah Palin strongly endorsed Ted Cruz in the 2012 Texas GOP primary race for the U.S. Senate. It was a spectacular come-from-behind win waged against the entire GOPe in Texas who supported Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst in the race.

Beyond giving her endorsement, Sarah traveled to Texas in 2012 to make personal appearances with Ted on the campaign trail and was highly influential in boosting his fundraising totals. Ted thanked Sarah first in his victory speech on the eve of the GOP primary election saying he was "humbled for her incredible support in this campaign."

A Sarah Palin endorsement might pay of big in a Republican primary. Bu that endorsement could be political poison in a general election. There aren’t too many outside the conservative movement that like her.

I love Sarah Palin (see tag) but this sounds like a finger in the wind.

Sarah clearly is supporting both Trump and Cruz but holding off an endorsement for what? She still has enough of a following to bring a second place into the front or make a first place candidate unstoppable.

"A Sarah Palin endorsement might pay of big in a Republican primary. Bu that endorsement could be political poison in a general election. There aren't too many outside the conservative movement that like her."

Doesn't matter in a way. This election cycle, the E-GOP will not get an establishmentarian IMHO either on the top of the ticket or as VP. With that said, we will need the base, and how many of them stayed home for Romney? If she brings the 4 million out that he lost, or better yet she gets out the 13 million she brought to McCain it is a win-win. Now if Cruz is on the top of the ticket, how does Trump bring him the Blue Collar Democrats ( unless he is VP ) into Ted's fold, frankly I am not sure he can bring them on his own, unless they can't stand Hilda enough they pull the lever for Ted because she reminds many of the Ex-Mother-Inlaw or they can't stand her as much as I think and they stay home.

Say it ain't so, Sarah.

:^(

That she even has to think about it is disappointing in the extreme. I have been a steadfast admirer over the years -- this is only the third time she's really disappointed me. (I don't count her endorsing McCain because she'd have been chastised by the same people no matter who she endorsed in that race, for being disloyal to "who brung her to the dance" or for doing what she ultimately did).
