Outrage as military vehicles, equipment taken from officers in wake of Obama order

Valuable vehicles and equipment are being yanked from law enforcement agencies across the country by the Obama administration in the wake of the president’s post-Ferguson order -- as sheriffs and lawmakers tell FoxNews.com the equipment is needed, and losing it could put officers and the communities they serve in danger.

"These things are useful tools and the president taking them away will put more officers in jeopardy and at risk of harm or even death. I don’t know how he can sleep at night knowing his actions will have those repercussions," Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., told FoxNews.com.

President Obama issued Executive Order 13688 in January after the 2014 riots in Ferguson, Mo., amid concerns about the "militarization" of the police fueling a heavy-handed response.

” All this is really doing is increasing the disparity in federal power vs local power.”

Hows that working in Afghanistan?

“It is time to bring back Officer Friendly.”

Officer Friendly is from a different age, which thanks to the progression of cultural Marxism is long gone. He wouldn’t last a shift in the hood. But he still doesn’t need an MRAP.

Thank you for referencing that article Wyrd bi ful ard. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

”President Obama issued Executive Order 13688 in January after the 2014 riots in Ferguson, Mo., . . .”

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

What we cannot expect to hear from Obama guard dog Fx News concerning Obamas executive orders dealing with military vehicles is the following.

The states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for local police departments. And not having such power is significant for the following reason.

Regarding executive orders, ”executive orders” a term not found in the Constitution, please note the following. The Supreme Court clarified in Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer that executive orders do not have the force of law unless legislatively supported by Congress - provided that such legislation is reasonably based on Congresss constitutional Article I, Section 8-llimited powers. But as previously mentioned, such powers do not include regulating local police departments.

So regardless that lawless Obama is always being scapegoated, the real problem with Obamas unpopular executive orders is the following imo. We have a corrupt, Constitution-ignoring Congress that wrongly allows lawless presidents and activist justices to unconstitutionally exercise legislative branch powers, powers that Congress does not even have with respect to local police departments..

So please bear in mind that patriots need to support Trump and Cruz with a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress.

Getting back to local police departments, they should arguably refuse to give up their federally funded military vehicles by claiming that they are recovering state / local revenues which were stolen from the states through unconstitutional federal taxes.

”Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” - Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

I don't need local police with fully-automatic weapons, armored vehicles, and other military hardware, thankyouverymuch.
It only serves to reinforce their ridiculous us v. them bearing that police are increasingly adopting on a day-to-day basis.

He is cleaning up his own my mistake. Obama reduced our military by pulling out of the ME. Then gave the equipment to local police. Then Blacks in Ferguson complained about a war zone.

Anyone else remember the TV show Hill Street Blues and the character Lt. Howard Hunter? He was portrayed as a nut job and mocked for wanting special weapons and even a tank. Nowadays, it’s common equipment in any police department of any size. A lot changed in 30 years.

I am with you. If police want access to MRAPs and tracked vehicles, they should have joined the Army or Marines. I was never a fan of police officers getting military hardware.

Hot flash: JBTs have used up all the Officer Friendly good will. There are whole generations that no longer care, after dead dogs and dead children and dead grandmothers and wrong house raids, whether you all get home tonight.

Every $250 ticket you issued for a burned out license plate bulb was one more civilian who really doesn't worry if some badge heavy thug gets a face full of 9mm.

Every bad shoot where one of the Brothers In Blue got a cover from the DA and a whitewash after a month's paid vacation chipped away at that trust. Whole bunches of civilians now believe that if the JBTs are called, someone is going to get shot.

They charged a Chicago cop with FIRST DEGREE MURDER, today, for shooting some kid 16 times. The thug kept shooting AFTER the kid was on the ground, curled in a fetal position. The city paid the family $5,000,000 before they even got lawyered up. They are afraid to release the dashcam tape. The killer has been on the street 15 years. Everyone is surprised, shocked even.

Tell us again how we are supposed to wait breathlessly for you to save us.

Fine. Hand them over to local National Guard detachments. (let the police keep a copy of the keys, but have to clear use with the NG, of if the SHTF and the NG ends up on the wrong side, at least there will be a chance to get a few of them.

I know of no instances where local police have used armored vehicles in a raid.

If this was an Aryan Nation or rancher uprising, rest assured the police could keep the military vehicles.

They'd have called out the National Guard, complete with air wings...
