You know, this is not an if else proposition. Putin can still be a Ex KGB, Ex commie tin pot dictator scumbag and Obama can still be, well Obama. Just because Putin is evil, doesn’t mean I’m saying Obama is good. Why is there this comparison? When did I ever say Obama was good? Where in any of these posts I have made, did you see me praise Obama. We’re talking about Putin, not Obama.

Putin is representing what he considers Russian interests, as well as intervening to help save Christians after neither Obama, nor any other major leader did. Turkey’s Moslem leader has progressively become worse and now under his Islamic leadership has lit the fuse of war with Russia by shooting down its aircraft. Kurdistan anyone ?

When you yourself asked this question:

Why do so many people on free republic want to believe everything Putin and Russia says?

You are in effect saying the following:

[Why do so many people on free republic want to believe everything Putin and Russia says over what Obama / Erdogan says.]

Then you go and lump our still patriotic forces in with Obama's lies, when our own pilots say 75% of their missions against ISIS were aborted by Obama and our intelligent annalists have went public with information of threat assessments altered.

Remember Obama saying he was going to fundamentally change America? Maybe those now running the country don't really represent what America once stood for. The old America wouldbe defending innocents in the M.E. instead of growing Muslim terrorists who slaughter them.

Each must decide for themselves. I'm picking true Christian(s) over Muslims every time.

Trust but verify.

As far as this plane being shot down, the truth will come out. There's no doubt that Russia has been routinely violating Turkey's airspace. Why is it so hard to believe they did it again? Russia's interest is to keep Asaad in power, their interests do not align with our interests which is the destruction of ISIS.

"under his Islamic leadership has lit the fuse of war with Russia by shooting down its aircraft."

You give far too much credit to Putin and Russia's power. Do you really think he can carry a war on in the Ukraine and in Syria and launch a full scale war with Turkey? They will close the Bosphorous straits and bottle everything up in the Black Sea and there's not a thing Russia can do about it. Russia will huff and puff and do nothing...

Too bad international law gets in the way...It is likely the plane was hit then returned to Syrian airspace.

While I mostly agree with you in principal, the terrorists murdered the pilots, the Turks shot 'em down. If the pilots ejected in Turkish airspace they would probably be alive.

the only dictator in all this is Obama. I fully support Putin and whatever he deems is an appropriate response to this act of war.

You continually link me with supporting Obama though I have never said that. America's interests is the destruction of ISIS. That was the "our" I was referring to. You don't do stupid, but you do a good imitation of it.

Russia is not there to fight ISIS, despite the propaganda that you have apparently believed.

Russia is there to save Assad’s butt. That’s it..

Good, Assad protects Christians and is worth defencing. Russia is bombing both ISIS and the alNusra (another name for al-Qaeda) linked Sunni rebels who are just as bad if not worse because they can actually eventually take Damascus.

Turkey is the only country in NATO to actively commit genocide in the 20th Century with no repercussions. They killed 1.5 million Armenians. Time for the Russians to fry some Turkey. Turkey is no friend of ours. STOP THE OCCUPATION OF CONSTANTINOPLE!

Let me make something crystal clear.

I do not support the State department led effort to replace Assad for a host of reasons.

However, we did not start this civil war. The US, has only been trying to take advantage of it to revamp Syria, which has been a occasional ass pain over many decades, both father and son.

But I think it’s a mistake. These people, various armed interest groups are ungovernable, and thus require a dictator or tyrant..

But their story is different.

BTW, over my lifetime I have had several Armenian friends...They are very fine people.

I would agree - but the fact is there is ample evidence the revolt was sponsored from outside Syria and the US may well be involved from the start or shortly after.
