I actually remember those appalling, outrageous stories!
I sat glued to our TV’s (plural) for days and nights on end.
The little granddaughter we were raising was not yet 2 years old and I was with her 24/7. My husband, -— the late Dr.O -— and I raised her until she was 6 years old (when we moved from San Diego to Mississippi). She continues to spend her vacation time with me.
In fact, she is lying on the couch next to me, right now, having just turned 16! She is spending her High School Thanksgiving Vacation with me and we went through family photos last night, which include some still photos of her in front of screen shots of 9/11 TV!
I guess I took those photos so she would know that she was alive and watching that historic tragedy with me for at least one solid week. She is thrilled to have those photos now.
Her first words were: “GEORGE BUSH” because I always watched the political stuff on Fox News, and she was born on the last day of all ‘odd numbers’ for several hundred years - 11/19/1999.
In two of the photos, (taken later on) she is standing in front of the big TV while GEORGE BUSH is holding that megaphone telling those workers that the whole world will soon hear from us. Great photo!
You mistake that I’d settle for a status quo GOPe quisling. Never. Jeb Bush under NO circumstances. Marco Rubio or a John Kasich, either.
I would never condescend to imply you did not think - yet you did. Think about that.

I live in NYC and I remember reports of some Muslims cheering the WTC. It was rumored but never proven and was absolutely never shown on television. Your friends are liars, too.
We all saw it. We all know it happened. We all know it’s true. We watched in on tv in real time.
The issue is that Trump is claiming that he saw it firsthand from four miles away. Superman, super eyesight?
Didn’t Hillary claim something about Chelsea being endangered, another self-serving effort to make it about herself?
I would think binoculars would be standard equipment in a tower like that. Someone not having them would be more uncommon. Probably like reading glasses. Who says, “I read a book last night with my reading glasses?
So is Trump your absolute only acceptable candidate? Serious question, because I find your allegiance interesting.
Is this what people are getting their panties in a wad over? Haters are upset Trump talked about something that actually happened?
I can still remember where I was in my car when the news came across the radio. I can't imagine what it would be like being in New York at that time and watching from a distance.
I mean it's not like he claimed he tried to get into the marines, or flew into a country under sniper fire.

For crying out loud. I saw people jump from Ohio. It’s called TV, jerks.
Also, I used to have REALLY good eyes — could read the second to the bottom (20/10) line of the eye chart easily and part of the bottom line. Not so good now (getting older sucks, but beats the alternative). Can still see people about 1 mile away. Incidentally, the max for someone with perfect vision to make out a human-sized object is about 2 miles.
Give me binoculars, and 4 miles is easy.
Or again, there is this thing called TV...

Lots of people have a tendency to blend related points when speaking on a specific topic. Trump does this. Being on the receiving end of that can be confusing sometimes.
Then there are those who seize upon it and twist it to mean something not implied, Megyn Kelly et al.
That is why Trump sometimes clarifies.
A decent pair of binoculars or a telescope on a tripod would have made it possible to see the WTC jumpers.
Some studies say that someone with perfect vision can make out human-sized objects at about 2 miles. The human form is uniquely identifiable by the visual processing centers of the brain, so that’s probably about the max.
PS Sorry, too busy to Google the studies, and this I off of memory, so may not be correct. Just my recollection.

If I had the same views as Trump had of NYC, there would be telescopes in every room or at least a few benoculars handy.
From the top of the hill behind our house we can see the towers on the electric plant on the Ohio river 50 miles away. Four miles is really not far -—”on a clear day you can see forever”
It was a beautiful clear blue sky on 9-11
