Cruz on ‘Lunacy’ of Transgender Policies: ‘My 5-Year-Old Knows There’s a Difference...

GOP presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) spoke out Thursday on the growing debate over transgender policies for school facilities including restrooms and lockers, specifically the push for kids to use facilities consistent with their “gender identity.”

“The federal government is going after school districts, trying to force them to let boys shower with little girls,” Cruz said on the conservative radio show “Louder With Crowder.” “Now listen: I’m the father of two daughters, and the idea that the federal government is coming in saying that boys, with all the God-given equipment of boys, can be in the shower room with junior high girls – this is lunacy!

“And I bet you there are a whole lot of parents – particularly parents of daughters – that are not eager to have the federal government saying ‘Guess what? Your daughter has to shower with a boy, if he wants to be in there,’” he continued.

Cruz later added, “You know, the funny thing is, my five-year-old knows there’s a difference between boys and girls, and yet modern Leftists can’t figure that out.”

Cruz’s references to the federal government’s involvement in this issue likely allude to the Obama administration’s legal support for transgender students in two recent cases.

The Department of Education (DOE) ruled Nov. 2 that a Chicago area school district violated Title IX, which prohibits sex-based discrimination in schools, by not allowing an unnamed biological male access to the girls’ locker room.

"We do not agree with (the DOE's) decision and remain strong in our belief that the District's course of action, including private changing stations in our locker rooms, appropriately serves the dignity and privacy of all students in our educational environment," the Illinois school district said in a statement following the ruling.

The district has been given 30 days to reach a solution or face enforcement, which could mean the loss of Title IX funding.

The DOE also filed a brief at the end of October in support of Gavin Grimm, a biological female who is suing the Gloucester County School Board in Virginia for access to the boys’ restroom.

“Prohibiting a transgender male student from using boys’ restrooms, when other non-transgender male students face no such restriction, deprives him not only of equal educational opportunity but also ‘of equal status, respect, and dignity,’” the DOE and DOJ attorneys argued in that brief.

Yup, even small children figure this one out on their own.

It is kind of funny that the left calls us “Science deniers” for not buying their theory about global warming yet can’t seem to grasp the actual hard science of X and Y chromosomes.

There was a “transgendered” man trying to be a woman who used to work with my wife. One day I brought my then 4 year old daughter to eat lunch with mommy. The he-she tried to talk to my daughter who just hid behind her mother. When the he-she went to the bathroom my daughter said, “Mommy, she looks like a man”.

I know you guys realize that the country has gone completely insane and much more and WORSE insane ideas will be coming our way courtesy of that piece of @#$ in the white house.

I dont have a daughter, but I KNOW the men on this board will show up not too happy at a school if a kook decides he wants to shower in the girls room and it is allowed.

I don't know how long ago that trans incident happened with your daughter, but back in 1987, I was working H/R with the Boeing Company in Seattle, when a newly transgendered man-->woman, in a pretty pink blouse and accessories was trying to convince my boss that his psychiatrist wanted him to start using the women's bathrooms to ease his transition.

At that time the answer was a big NO!

I left that job shortly thereafter; I imagine, like most of corporate America, Boeing is rife with freaks in women's bathrooms.

Well, his children probably inherited his intellect. It’s probably not fair to pit mentally defective liberal adults against Ted Cruz’s 5-year-old. The girl will win every time.

Haha, your poor kid. Hope she wasn’t permanently scarred by the encounter.

Thank you for that wonderful story. It made my day. What can be better than the wisdom and truthfulness of a child?
Please give your daughter a big hug for me.

I wonder what will happen when the daughter of a prominent lib is raped in the locker room by one of these “transexuals”.

Very true. The liberals deny the science of male and female, of male organs and female organs. But we are deniers of science if we don’t buy global warming. Go figure.

Transgendered people are like unicorns. I’ve heard of them, but I know they don’t exist. How did this nonsense get to be accepted as having some legitimacy? Society has been cowed into denying reality because people are afraid of being called bigots.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Transgendered people.... I’ve heard of them, but I know they don’t exist.

And you always know who they are because their physiology, no matter how effeminate in a man, screams out their true sex. They are walking parodies on public display of a pathetic attempt to emulate their NON-sex. And they always waaaaay overdo the makeup/clothing/hair/mannerisms.
