Obama's biggest terrorism struggle: how to sell "Don't do stupid sh!t" as a strategy
Vox ^ | 11/18/2015 | Matthew Yglesias

What do you do when the moral and emotional stakes of an attack seem to call for war but there is no war that can be constructively fought?

That's a question Barack Obama's national security advisers have grappled with for months, if not years, as I understand from conversations with them dating to before Friday's Paris attacks....[T]he core group of real "Obama people" has a surprisingly dovish self-conception....

[....]

But an actual attack on US soil would, on an emotional level, demand that we "do something" - something that would already have been rejected as unworkable or counterproductive....Yet the idea of a president going on television in the wake of an attack and not vowing further punitive measures is inconceivable.

In this way, the hardest problem in US counterterrorism policy is in some ways as much a speechwriting challenge as anything else. The next time something goes wrong and an attack hits the United States, how do you sell the American people on the idea of not really doing anything about it?

There you have it:

The 0bama White House will view a terrorist attack on US soil as primarily a public relations problem - because they have already decided that they aren't going to do anything in response.

Read the whole thing. It's friggin' unbelievable.

Obama’s biggest problem is going to be his eternal fate after he finally breathes his last.

You seem surprised.

Sometimes I think that I have grasped the depths of depravity of this administration. And then they pull some new stunt, and yes, I am surprised all over again.

Well, I can’t disagree. Luckily I’ll face my own, and he’ll be stick with his shortcomings.

Nothing defines “stupid sh*t” better than allowing thousands of essentially unscreened Syrian muslims even after ISIS promised to slip Islamic fighters in with the refugees.

Obama is King “Stupid Sh*t”.

I know....I hope I am wrong. I feel the same way, yet who is stopping him with anything now? They will do it little by little. The dems want to add language in the next spending bill on gun control.

Here's a real worry:

"Foreign conflicts are likely counterproductive on many levels - creating new generations of widows and orphans who resent the West, deepening ideological polarization between Islamists and liberals....

I know what you’re saying FRiend, but as the old Firestone commercials used to say “when the rubber meets the road”, Americans WILL NOT give up their 2nd Amendment rights, they will show that punk Barky just what a ‘bitter clinger’ looks like, and they will open fire on ANYONE trying to disarm them.

BELIEVE THAT.

I hope to God the next President puts that slimy bastard in Prison. I firmly believe he will have to exert a conscious effort to PREVENT Barack Obama from going to Prison.

Barack Obama belongs in Prison. So does his entire staff, and most of his contributors and supporters.

How indeed? When in fact as president - FUBObama will be principly responsible?

The swearing in of President Cruz (or Trump) can't come soon enough. While Obastard won't know what to do about it - either one of these two gentlemen will.

all for war but there is no war that can be constructively fought

Standard Leftism. Start with a fraudulent premise, build a fraudulent argument around it. Why is anything moving into and out of the ISIS controlled areas. Surrounded by enemies, ISIS should of been economically quarantined from day 1. Nothing in, nothing out. Surrender or starve. Why, after a year, did the 0 regime finally start attacking the primary source of ISIS wealth, oil exports? Pretty tough to wage war if you cannot pay, feed or supply your troops. Inhumane to the "women and childlren"? Tell that to the people on the Russian Jetliner, or in the Bataclan theatre. The want to die for their god? Very well I suggest we start accommodating them.
