onald Trump is back in the lead in Iowa. According to a new CBS News poll, 30% of Republicans in the state now support him.
Ben Carson, who was tied with Trump a month ago, has slipped to third.
The terrorist attacks in Paris appear to be the reason. Conservatives are looking for candidates who show the knowledge, passion, and determination to destroy ISIS. Carson, a friendly, upright man, is not a conservative powerhouse, and his knowledge and moral clarity about foreign policy does not compare with the two candidates now ahead of him.
Trump is not an expert either, but he leaves no questions regarding his intentions for ISIS. He is determined to crush the terror group, he knows that overwhelming military force is the only option, and he has shown no interest in playing games with the media over political correctness -- over feelings -- when discussing homeland security.
Conservative voters are obviously prioritizing this issue, as Cruz's rise in Iowa is accompanied by the finding that they have even more confidence in Cruz then in Trump as a future commander-in-chief:
While Iowa's Republicans generally feel Trump is ready to be commander-in-chief, Cruz scores even better on this measure, boosted by support from very conservative and Tea Party Iowans who feel he is ready to assume the post. That's more than say so about Trump, Carson, Rubio and Jeb Bush.

Cruz is ascending nicely. He will win Iowa.
So.. promoting your own material again, huh?
When you’re right, it ain’t braggin’!
Thank God!
Trump has a strong ground operation is all 99 counties in Iowa. Cruz will not be able to overcome that. He won’t have the money and Senior amnesty lost the moment that Paris was attacked.
At least he’s honest about it.
;-)
Check his history.
He’s only here to self-promote.
Blog pimping?
Cruz has a strong ground operation in all 99 counties, as does Carson, although Carson’s doesn’t really match the Cruz or Trump efforts.
carson never had a chance in heck and was just a distraction.
This will come down to Trump, Cruz and Rubio.
So, go read Rich Lowry’s piece at NRO, posted here at FR moments ahead of this post.
Same Story!
just the opposite ... Ted Cruz has the better Iowa ground game ... but I guess we’ll just have to see ...
Verification of theft and pimping.
Ripping off material and looking for hits as a reward.
Typical blogger.
All good news. Carson, Fiorina, Bush, Rubio all belong in their dust.
May the best of the two leading be the nominee.
I am not saying Cruz will beat Trump but CRUZ is the one with the superior ground operation in Iowa.
So.. promoting your own psychosis again, huh?
Check your history. You're only here to disrupt.
“This will come down to Trump, Cruz and Rubio.”
If so - we have a problem. Romeny cleaned up when the moderate R states finally voted in mass. With Trump and Cruz splitting either the all fed up or conservative vote, Rubio will run the same gambit and win enough delegates by the end of the primary.
Trump and Cruz need to make a deal. One has to bow out before it’s too late, so it’s a fair fight between the GOPe and conservatives. That’s only way we can stick it to the GOPe.
