It is not my job to forgive them. Jesus will decide their afterlife. I would just try to end the current one, with prejudice.

Yup. Feral is very descriptive — no parents to speak of and they run wild in the streets learning the crime and violence from gangs and drug dealers.

And the only solution for a feral animal is to keep them caged up and locked away and in severe cases, put down.

FYI - there is nothing in Christianity that says people cannot defend themselves from evil. In fact, we are commanded to resist evil at all costs.

Christianity does demand a sense of forgiveness in that we do not judge the souls of others; let Jesus be the judge. Still in this world, we are allowed to use force, if necessary, to defend our selves.

Forgive and Love again tomorrow when it happens again?

What about the day after that?

Or the one after that?

There is forgiveness.

And then there is the madness of letting wild beasts run loose. Forgive them AFTER permanently terminating their ability to kill again.

“Keller was dressed in a bright yellow Pokemon costume for a Halloween event, when he says his driver threatened to kill him outside of his home.

“Like he was going PTSD crazy, literally about to murder me,” Keller said. “I did not expect that.”

Three feral humans break down your door and announce intent to rape and kill you, your wife, and all your kids.

What is your response?

Though everything inside of me wants to hate, be angry, and slip into despair I choose the route of forgiveness . . .

He's right to pray for them. That's not to say the criminals who did the crime don't need dead. They do.

There was a famous 19th century priest, St. Joseph Cafasso (1811-1860), rector of the seminary in Turin, who was called the "gallows priest." He was confessor and spiritual director to thousands of condemned men during his career. He got countless sincere conversions, since these men's minds were, in Dr. Johnson's verb, "concentrated" by the prospect of their destiny's rapid approach.

Fr. Cafasso was not a campaigner against capital punishment. On the contrary, he always asked the condemned men to pray for him. According to his friend St. John Bosco, their repentance was so thorough in many cases that many went almost joyfully to their executions.

Personally, Fr. Cafasso was said to be very punctual, paying close attention to how he spent his time. I'm sure his apostolate at the gallows encouraged him to think this way. He was also very calm.

Re: 12
... but his Christian reaction is to me what endangers this country, - Tom

His 'Christian' reaction is correct (and if it is Christian, by definition it is correct).
All he said is that he is not going to wallow in hatred.
That said, the Bible is also clear: Man and Woman are made in the image of God. He who takes a man's life is to have his taken.

Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Forgiveness is fine - but the men involved in this murder punched their ticket for an express departure from their temporal life. It is our Nation's sin that we do not follow this command.

I say let god forgive their souls, for I doubt we will, with that being said give them their trial which is the American Way, and then if found guilty without a shadow of a doubt give them the death penalty with one year for appeal only.

Because Blackburn was expecting, legal experts say anyone arrested in connection with the crime could be charged with more than her murder, a conviction on which would already send a person to prison for 45 to 65 years. In certain murder cases, the crime also can be punishable by life imprisonment or the death penalty.

You bet someone would roll when faced with this possible sentence.

"A total of twenty individuals convicted of murder have been executed by the state of Indiana in the United States since the reinstatement of the death penalty in 1977. Prior to 1995, electric chair was the sole method of execution. This was replaced with lethal injection in 1995."
