Troubling signs about the Affordable Care Act and the state of health care in the U.S. have bubbled up in the last few weeks.
The administration's Obamacare enrollment projections for the coming year are down, the projected cost of premiums and out of pocket costs are up, nearly half of the insurance co-ops associated with the program are going out of business, and UnitedHealth Group, the nation's largest health insurer, said it may withdraw from the government marketplaces in 2017.
Now comes a new survey by Gallup showing growing discontent with Obamacare and the U.S. health-care industry more generally after years of relative satisfaction with the quality and cost of the health-care system.

My healthcare provider is dropping Obamacare.
They say they can sustain a 650 million loss annually from Obamacare.
I didn’t see a word about Pelosi. Just sayin’. I thought she would come in for some criticism in the article.
The THRILL is certainly hugh and series, and gone! lol.
At some point in the near future even liberals will admit that the years 2008 - 2016 will be known as America’s Dark Ages.
“Embrace the suck”
And now the Kenyan is talking about taking a butcher knife to the First and Second Amendments before he rides off into the sunset to California or Hawaii. All of his failures will be somebody else’s problem.
.... Of course .... the administration is now drawing up plans to bail out UnitedHealth Group and other large Insurers claiming they are “Too Big To Fail.” This will help to buffer and soften any financial repercussions due to dancing with the Obamacare Devil ..... and help hide it from the collective public.
This is where bozocare is: Pay big money for a plan with huge deductable and maybe 50 percent coverage and deductable and monthly premiums constantly rising at double digit rate.
The Democrats have had access to the public treasuries for seven years now.
The treasuries are empty.
They know that a Republican has to be elected to replenish the treasuries.
Once the treasuries are refilled, the Democrats will be back.
Like locusts.
Don't deceive yourself. Obama is not going anywhere.
After Obama leaves office he is going to stay in Washington and defend to the death everything he did as president.
He will not follow the traditional conduct of former presidents and lead the quiet life of a retired gentleman. He will defend his legacy with loud vicious diatribes against those who would reverse the course to tyranny that he has paved.
Bailing everyone out only concentrates all financial risk on to the backs of the taxpayer, and their children.
How the hell can "enrollment" even be a part of the media conversation when this sham has been the f**king law for five freaking years?
I keep wondering when one of the idiots who tell us how to think will ask this simple question.
(Conservative pundits included)
As a doc, I want everyone to get the health care they need. I also know that if there isn't profit involved, there won't be rapid technological and pharmacological advances, and health care will eventually reach equilibrium at a much lower point than it can and should be. Socialism selects for the lowest common denominator of outcome, and that's where we are headed.
Economically, there are ways to make medicine work, for everyone, and to be a model for the world (keeping our advances and quality, and reeling in costs). One crucial operative word here is ‘ways’ = plural. Encouraging market solutions will result in many ‘ways’ to make things better and more cost effective. There isn't a magic single bullet formula, and politicians who want to believe that there is (and push others to believe this) are disingenuous, at best - and dangerous to your health.
That was exactly my first thought. Coming from the Ins. Co. as a threat.
Americansâ ratings of healthcare coverage are not high, but remain higher than they were in George W. Bushâs second term.â
To make the libs feel better this was the last line
I’ve been hoping that the current mess will push more doctors to cash. Where this has happened office prices have been better than reasonable.
Hes going to prison.
Nice thought but just wishful thinking
It is time for everyone to simply become a Refusenik.
Tell the petulant child, OTrauma, “NO.”
