But you can't. Cruz just told you you're going to have to vote for him to find out what he supports (like Nancy Pelosi), and that you're just going to have to believe his LIES when he claims he never supported legalization in the past!
Where’s the common sense in deporting millions of people (which will never be funded by Congress anyway) with the intention of expediting their way back into the country?
First of all, I'm not actually sure that Trump-- in the comment you reference-- was not referring to immigration in general, seeing as how in other statements he declared it unfair for illegal aliens to get automatic legalization when other people have been waiting in line for years.
But as for how it's common sense? For the same reason why you don't bring Syrian Refugees into this country and then hope to vet them while they're already here.

Ted Cruz was calling for a border wall in 2011 when Trump still supported amnesty. Cruz has an excellent immigration plan that does not include expedited re entry after deportation. If you read the law enforcement section of his plan it is evident he does plan to implement deportation.
Throw every damn illegal out. Eisenhower rounded up a million plus in the 50’s.
Trump, however, is viewing this on a scope closer to a war than the nice neat “law enforcement” of Cruz. Can Cruz stoke up the fire in his belly to that point? Trump, being told that all these cases have to be due-processed, would either do an Andrew Jackson, or else say fine, let’s open up 1000 courts then.

And a second point to those advocacy groups that are so passionately engaged. In my view if this committee rejects this amendment, and I think everyone here views it as quite likely this committee will choose to reject this amendment, in my view that decision will make it much, much more likely that this entire bill will fail in the House of Representantives. I don't want immigration reform to fail. I want immigration reform to pass, and so I would urge people of good faith on both sides of the aisle, if the objective is to pass common sense immigration reform that secures the borders, that improves legal immigration, and that allows those who are here illegally to come in out of the shadows, then we should look for areas of bipartisan agreement and compromise to come together and this amendment -- I believe if this amendment were to pass the chances of this bill passing into law would increase dramatically, and so I would urge the committee to give it full consideration and to adopt the amendment.

Trump is the reentry guy and Cruz will consider legalization without reentry. I see no difference there and have no idea what they would end up doing. But I do know that one of them has used the state to try and take a woman’s property for personal gain and his name is not Cruz.

There will be plenty of illegals left after Trump's initial deportation, as well, and the very same decision will have to be faced.

Trump uses of ED have proven to be more humane than the average, incidentally. One can criticize the philosophy of Kelo, but if the People do not want it, Trump could not do a jolly thing to derail its being chucked out by constitutional amendment (as to what counts as a public use).
You seem to have a comprehension problem where Cruz’s immigration plan is concerned. Trump actually supports legalization, but he just includes a very costly couple of steps by deporting them and then expediting them back in.
Once again, though, this is trying to fault someone for something he did not say. it is the same thing the leftists have done to Trump. Do not be like the leftist media.
Tell them to get on home persuasively enough, and most will follow.
I think the best path is to not try to jump to conclusions.
The Cruz guys were playing gotcha this morning over some answer by Trump over college tuition that they blew up into their usual “Trump is a liberal” schtick, so they ought not be indignant when the Trump guys take a swipe over this.
But we all know neither are looking to screw us over, so people really need to stop looking for the smallest things to go ballistic over or else FR will be nothing but dueling gotcha posts.
