Cruz calls EPA emissions plan ‘tyranny’

Sen. Ted Cruz and Attorney General Ken Paxton denounced a new federal emissions regulation as illegal, expensive and pointless Thursday during an energy conference organized by the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

The Environmental Protection Agency's new regulation, known as the Clean Power Plan, was finalized last month and immediately challenged in court by 26 states and an array of companies and associations in the energy industry.

"The regulation is neither clean nor does it have anything to do with power, other than the Obama Administration's power to harm our energy production," Cruz, a Republican, said in a taped message. "The CPP would, by the admission of its own proponents, reduce the effects of climate change by an infinitesimal amount a century from now."

As the states have historically regulated their own power grids, Cruz called the plan a "power grab" by the federal government "our founders would have recognized as tyranny."

Robert E. Murray, the CEO of Murray Energy Corporation, said the Obama administration was exceeding its authority.

“Just bypass the Railroad Commissions, bypass the states. Bypass the Senate, the House, and the U.S. Constitution and put the EPA in charge of whether that woman and that child on fixed income are going to be able to have affordable electricity,” Murray said.

A study by NERA Economic Consulting published this month estimates CPP compliance costs nationwide will be as high as $39 billion a year. In Texas, electric rates could increase by as much as 21 percent, the study found.

That's less expensive than earlier versions of the rule, but the rule would still be five times as expensive as every other EPA regulation on power plants combined, the study found.

"It's going to have a tremendous impact on electricity prices," Paxton told the audience at the At the Crossroads Energy & Climate Policy Summit. The CPP lawsuit is one of six Paxton's office has filed against the Obama administration.

In July, the Supreme Court struck down the previous record-holder for most expensive EPA energy regulation, a rule on mercury widely seen as a backdoor means of regulating particulate emissions. The court ruled the EPA improperly failed to consider the cost of its rule early in the process.

The ruling came too late to save the industry, according to Murray, who sued the EPA over the mercury rule.

"I won, but I didn't win anything, because (Obama) had already closed 411 coal power plants," Murray said.

However, he said, the EPA made the same mistake in the current process.

The EPA defends the Clean Power Plan by arguing it will result in 180,000 fewer missed school days by children due to ozone-related illnesses by 2030, and that smog will contribute to somewhere between 2,700 and 6,200 fewer premature deaths by 2030.

President Obama famously promised, during his first presidential campaign, to bankrupt coal investors. U.S. coal production has dropped 15 percent since 2008, due both to regulatory pressures and to competition from natural gas, which has been at historic low prices.

"As a whole, the industry is bankrupt," Murray said. "We're $45 billion short of what we need to pay our debts."

The EPA needs to be sacrificed, the buildings razed and the ground where they were needs to be salted.

They regulate mercury out of coal, but refuse to regulate mercury out of vaccines. Interesting... There is ten Million times more exposure to people in a simple flu shot.

Perhaps they are far more interested in killing industry than saving lives.

Great, but the founders figured out how to deal with Tyranny and it wasn’t pushing for more rights through Parliament. One of our leaders needs to start talking about this.

The EPA is one of the federal agencies that president Ted Cruz is going to shut down, and not a moment too soon.

There are 180K kids missing school each year? Wow, wonder what schools are still open.

Love Ted Cruz. He takes control of the Language.

I was reading some articles this morning and it occurred to me that the WHOLE WESTERN CANON is being demeaned and vilified to all little public school children so a Ted Cruz is impossible (they have to come from OUTSIDE the system of mass brainwashing.). We had tons of Ted’s back at the Founding.

A “college” student was offended by having to read Ovid.——or put in the blank: Mark Twain, Thomas Jefferson, St. Thomas Aquinas.

The point: to destroy the Worldview which created the Greatest Minds in the history of man (Holy Bible/Christianity/Individuality/Natural Law/US Constitution was taught for a thousand years in the West and particularly ALL the American schools until it was banned by Dewey/60s courts (unconstitutional)).

It took thousands of years of transmitting history and knowledge to their posterity, so culture could grow and gain Wisdom of the Ages——and end all the slavery, pederasty, homosexuality, polygamy, child sacrifice, etc. which was common in all puerile, tribal, socialistic cultures. Individuality is a Christian concept. Individual Natural Rights ONLY from God to be our OWN master-—creates responsible virtuous cultures. Vice only creates slaves and collapses culture. We MADE the most brilliant, free country in the history of man. But the evil sodomite elites want SLAVES only for their use. They want our children-—and they own them with Common Core (NCLB/GOALS 2000).

We got OFF the wheel of History and the elites have been designing curricula to enslave and destroy the Minds of our children-—to make them like little tribal minds-—Inca slaves.

Only Classical Education (original sources) give the tools to “think” like a Ted Cruz-—understanding the Socratic Method and Aristotelian Logic.

Freedom-———then the Postmodernists Fichte, Wundt, Marx, Bentham, and Pavlov designed a systematic Mind Control “system” to enslave people-—with their “loving’ consent. Fichte 1810—google destroy “Free Will”and make children so irrational and dumb they believe “snow is black”.

That is what Common Core is-—a system of Mind Control paid for by the MILLIONS of muslim/Marxist groups-—to destroy the Minds of children-—that is what all curricula since the 80s has been designed to do but with the lack of control of ALL teachers, it couldn’t be implemented-—and they are putting our children into databases——to discretely direct and control them and embed them to do their will (subversively, but firmly).

We need to get the government OUT of schools, kids OUT of databases—and destroy ALL the curricula which is funded by Muslim/Marxist groups. (ALL major textbooks industry-—even Khan Academy redesigned their efficient “math series” to conform to “Common Core”.

What Common Core does is embeds negative emotions-—kids will only master subjects in spite of it because the human mind (God) is so brilliant.

This use of psychological control is extensive—Hollywood uses it with their trash shows to destroy the ability of children to think coherently and to embed evil concepts/desires——to destroy Virtue and normalize Vice-—and dehumanize (remove them from real life experiences and true Wisdom-—and the “I can do it myself” attitude-—for mass confomity-—think exactly as the master dictates (children’s imagination is destroyed and put into a tight UGLY box designed by the sodomites in Hollywood—the ones raping all the children).

Sorry for the rant-—but this is SO CLEAR to me when I talk with the teenagers and young adults today——they are so incredibly IGNORANT of this exceptional country and Christianity-—the only Worldview which could give us America and the Western Canon—an intellectual like Ted Cruz.

Public schools TRAP children in artificial institutions (dehumanization) for MASS CONFORMITY and FEAR of “THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX” like TED CRUZ, so they can’t “KNOW” anything REAL.

Virtue is learned and habituated. It is NOT an ACCIDENT that Cruz is the man he is——his parents RAISED and EDUCATED him. They transmitted THEIR worldview to their son and he was brilliant enough to resist the brainwashing of the system. The MSM/Hollywood/Sodomites/Marxists/Socialists hate him because he wants freedom for the masses....not slavery/socialism.

illegal, expensive and pointless

Hmm... that pretty sums up the EPA itself, as well as many other government agencies.

All the Malthusians and Sangers and Bernard Shaws and Billy Ayers want billions of people killed off the face of the earth. They stated it.

It is their Malthusian plan since before they engineered all the wars and biological gases, flouride, and viruses and “vaccines”-—all paid for by the taxpayers (of course) for the few elite sodomites who control the banks who want OUR children to be the slaves for them, as they party on and on in their pristine paradise with pagan orgies like the partier, John Maynard Keynes with all the pretty little boys and his homosexual “lovers”-—and the CIA Bush/VP in the White House with the Franklin Cover-Up.

It is ALL about using and killing off the masses and controlling the population which works better if they have health problems to divert them away from Washington DC. It always has been the Malthusian, godless worldview of the “Collective” (Socialism/group think/mass conformity). Christianity has to be destroyed and why it is banned and attacked 24/7-—it is what created the Western Mind-—the brilliance and concept of freedom for mankind.

Like John Bolten was supposed to shut down the UN. I bet after 8 years of Cruz, we will still have all of the Departments.

This power grab has been fought since about 1970. In 1968 the Commies passed the Mine Safety and Health Act, taking control of safety from the states. Everyone knew that it was not constitutional since it allowed the Feds to regulate coal mined and used in the same state. This was strictly a power grab that worked because the large companies thought they could withstand the Fed fines and the small companies could not. Large companies wanted the competition to disappear thereby allowing them to control the price. There was never any reason for the Feds to even promote the idea that they wanted to make the mines safer for the workers or people in general, we all knew better.

I knew then that if they could do this to us they could destroy any other segment of business that they wanted to.

Where are the hackers when you need them? The names, addresses, and phone numbers of EPA, MSHA, and all of the state co-conspirators would have been very useful back then.

When this occurred many of us went to lawyers and were told in 70 that to take this to the Supreme Court would cost 300K and this was money the small companies did not have. It could have been nipped in the bud back then and would have cut the legs off the Feral Government.

The nation is still suffering under Nixon’s stupidity in creating the EPA. Obama’s disgraceful legacy will saddle us from years to come as well.

Thankfully Cruz understands the importance of gutting all of these infringements on our freedoms.
