NBC News ^ | NOV 20 2015

In the Republican primary race, the newest NBC News/SurveyMonkey online poll shows Donald Trump has the frontrunner spot to himself, with 28% support among Republican and independent voters who lean Republican. Support for Ben Carson, who was tied with Trump in last month's online poll, has fallen off by 8 points and the former neurosurgeon is now tied with Ted Cruz at 18%. Trailing not too far behind is Marco Rubio, at 11%. The next tier of candidates has a lot of catching up to do, with Jeb Bush at 4% and Chris Christie and Carly Fiorina each with 3%.

Its a lot smaller pond here at FR and its easier for a few to be very loud and aggressive.

I’m just a twitter nobody and I have almost 700 real followers and they’re 90% Cruz supporters.

I like the Cruz "trend line".

Solid. People are waking up and realizing that The Republic is at peril, Congress is useless, and the only chance to save ourselves is with a conservative constitutional originalist.

You don’t understand, you have to hate Trump or you are not a pure conservative. It’s almost as if it is a cult religion to be more holy and pure.

Pray America wakes

It seems Trump also likes wind energy as well.

Trump in favor of subsidies for wind energy

During a voter forum in Newton, Iowa, Trump said he's "OK" with wind energy subsidies, mostly because the price of oil has plummeted during the past year. With oil costing so little, there's not much incentive to build windmills to generate wind energy without subsidies, Trump said.

"It needs subsidy, otherwise they're not going to get built," he said. "They're very expensive to build and they're very expensive to maintain."

GENIUS!!!!! LOL

So now Cruz is the new "Anti Trump".

No, Ted Cruz is peeling away Ben Carson's evangelical supporters as Carson repeatedly demonstrates his ineptitude.

Rubio and Jeb are the "Anti-Trumps."

Yes, I know your kind is throwing around “hate” to try and smear those who don’t agree with Trump, just like liberals do.

And I’ve noted elsewhere that the “purity” meme has been pulled out of mothballs by those who want to dump their principles in order to push Trump. The Romney pimps loved that one in 2012. Now it’s your turn.

I don’t care. Still won’t support Trump and will stick with the Constitutional conservative.

The people I talk to mostly don't really like Trump. They don't hate him but when I ask what they think of they just wrinkle up their faces and groan.

I see it kind of like Sarah Palin. If the only place you went and talked about her was here, then you would think she was the number 1 candidate.

The people that I know we're not that sold on her. FR is kind of like an echo chamber.

I will vote for Trump if he is the Republican candidate but Ted Cruz is the one I really really like!

Cruz said that there's no alliance between him and Trump.

You believe everything your hear. What you expect him to come out and say there is one? You know what the press would do?

Obama and Biden campaigned against each other before uniting. Why can't Trump and Cruz.

"You believe everything your hear."

LOL

Yet everything out of Trump's mouth is gospel.

I swear, I’m not overstating it when I say I don’t understand how anyone takes this guy seriously.

The most important thing to happen would be the withdrawal from the campaign by Graham, Huckabee, Christie, Paul, and Santorum.

We will never be able to see the forest for the trees until the field is winnowed. Next to go should be Bush and Fiorina.

In my opinion, anything short of a constitutional conservative is just sliding scale progressive.

Contrary to popular belief, progressivism is not about left and right. Teddy Roosevelt was a “right wing” progressive.

Sorry, but Trump was thinking about running for President back in April 2011; Cruz on the other hand was talking about it in 2013....

Looks like some of the Carson fans are switching to Cruz. I’m very happy about that. I trust Cruz to think, fight for what he believes, and project strength and confidence to allies around the world. I’m not sure Dr Nice is either a conservative or a leader.

Trump can lead, but I’m not sure where he would lead us TO. With Cruz, you know.

“NBC is straight out lying.”

Even Megyn Kelly inferred that.

Imagine them as a team.

It's a little too early to consider Trump and Cruz a team although they share similar values and opinions. Time and circumstances will determine if they will team up to defeat the main democratic opponent after the primaries.

Whoever wins the GOP nomination will tell us if a Trump/Cruz ticket is to be. In the meantime, I'm still sticking with Cruz. Trump is my next choice should Cruz fail to win the GOP nomination.

The national media, as we speak, are sharpening their daggers to bring down both Trump and Cruz by any means possible. Let's see who survives in the coming days and stay true to electing the best conservative regardless of personalities.

Trump is a long way from Romney. Romney was GOP and Trump is anti-GOP as is Cruz. Building the wall, sending illegals back were not Romney platforms. Trump is closer to Cruz and Sessions than the GOP.

You can win ugly or lose graciously and many here would rather lose graciously.

Sure I’ll support Trump and what he said 9 years ago as a business man based in the very Liberal NYC has no bearing on now. People evolve and as Reagan did they give up certain of their beliefs when they realize where these beliefs have brought them and where they are headed.

Frankly I would support whomever gets the nomination unlike some who would AGAIN throw the nation to another scumbag Leftie pig rather than deviate a scintilla from their precious uber Conservative “if they don’t check off every one of my Conservative boxes I’m staying home”, all for me and the hell with America Conservative

I am pro Cruz, but I am certainly not anti Trump. He is my clear second choice. I would be very happy to have a Trump-Cruz ticket.

They would win in a landslide.

Trump has a liberal past and, in fact, told "Morning Joe" in July that some of his positions are those of a Democrat. Every week or so, despite mouthing his new-found "conservatism", something he says or does reveals the Democrat beneath the facade. Look at the links posted here by cripplecreek, showing him pandering to the ethanol subsidies and wind subsidies (!) crowd.

Trump is the exact opposite of Cruz, a solid Christian whose touchstone is the Constitution. Has Trump ever read the Constitution? Ever mentioned it? There's simply no comparison between the two men. At all.

Unless we put a conservative in the White House, what have we won, exactly? Some of us never learn, though. For three years out of the cycle, we give lip service to conservative principles, but then election year rolls around, and we peel off and support the "electable" guy...you know, like Dole, McCain, and Romney.

But maybe you agree with the Trump supporter who told me that winning is the only principle he cared about.
