Senator Rand Paul forced his own partyâs leadership to yank a bill off the floor of the Senate on Thursday over refugee housing, a significant political and policy victory for the Kentucky Senator and 2016 GOP presidential candidate.
Paul also blasted Senate leadership on Thursday for not considering his amendment to the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development funding bill that would have blocked any current refugees in the United States from getting public housing.
âWell I think what boggles my mind is the biggest issue in our country right now is keeping us safe from attack,â Paul told Breitbart News on Thursday afternoon when reached by phone. âMy amendment tells the president that we donât approve of bringing more people here from the Middle East until we have adequate controls on whoâs here already. My amendment was not only pertinent to the biggest issue of the day, it was also germane to the bill. Both parties tried to stop me from offering it and thatâs a tragedy.â
Paulâs amendment to the so-called T-HUD funding bill would have cut off public housing funding for refugees in America right now.

KEEP THEM IN SYRIA IN A SAFE NO FLY ZONE!!!!
Ditch Mitch.
Let the churches, “charitable” organizations, and democrats out of their own pockets fully fund the invaders. No tax money and no entry to public assistance and schools.
I know Rand is despised by a lot of Freepers, and in no way is he fit to be POTUS, but he does possess a couple of virtues which are of utility to Conservatism. He should definitely stay in the Senate, and possibly serve as Sec. Treas. - not in a Trump administration He burned that bridge.
The tit’s run dry!
Rand has certainly been on a roll lately.
“public housing funding for refugees” A bad idea, as the Euros have learned. The first thing the moon worshippers do is set up Sharia zones. Then coms the rest of the nonsense: attacking infidel `whores’, honor killings, burning cars, etc. If ISIS is “contained” as Barry insists, send them back.
Thank you Rand Paul. Now if you could just permanently pull McConnell off the floor....
Give them a No Fly Zone so we can have a No Flea Zone.
It's not like it's our money we are spending!
Barry doesn’t give a chit about the following facts. He described the muslim call to prayer as “One of the most beautiful sounds in the world.}
From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.
(Like homosexuals)
They will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply. ( United States ).
France — Muslim 8%
Philippines — Muslim 5%
Sweden — Muslim 5%
Switzerland — Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands — Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad &Tobago — Muslim 5.8%
I know it isn’t popular with some of our more zealous;y religious freeper FRiends, but this is why it is important to enforce strict separation of church and state.
If you live in a small town and your church steeple speakers peal tunes to the general population on Sunday morning, when muzzies move in they will demand the `call to prayer’ five times a day, every day.
The best solution, of course, would be simply to ban the entry of dangerous religious bigots like fundamentalist muslims.
The first thing they try to do after escaping their particular hell-hole is to make their new Euro homes into fresh hell-holes.
“Thank you Rand Paul. Now if you could just permanently pull McConnell off the floor....”
Or maybe he could just put him up on a post in the middle of the Senate Floor.
Cruz effect by way of the Trump effect. We’re going bare knuckle and I’m loving it.
Refugee “resettlement” is big biz for big religion. I doubt they would be so enthusiastic to do it if they were cutting the checks to move these folks over here.
Cronies of a particularly underhanded sort.
He is despised here? I thought he was a rational conservative.
I don’t want Rand for President but he’s a darn good Senator and he fights everyday for our individual freedoms and conservative values. We a dozen more like him.
