Donald Trump Could Win the Republican Nomination in a Blowout

Polling shows Trump to be dominant in New Hampshire, the first primary state of the nation. He's led every poll there since September, almost always by double digits and sometimes doubling or even tripling the support of his nearest rival. He edges Ben Carson in Iowa half a percentage point, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls taken there in the last month--statistically insignificant, but evidence that a Trump victory in the nation's first caucus can't be ruled out--and could likely be followed by a blowout victory in New Hampshire.

"Trump's got an organization in place," Tyler DeHaan, the chairman of Iowa's Dallas County Republican Party, told the Baltimore Post-Examiner. But he warned that the situation in Iowa is extremely fluid. "If there's one thing I'm going to predict, it's that there's a going to be a lot of volatility between now and caucus night."

And after that? A new CNN/ORC poll shows Trump running away in both South Carolina's primary and Nevada's caucuses, with Trump doubling Carson's support in South Carolina and leading Carson by 16 points in Nevada while all other candidates poll in the single digits.

The South Carolina primary and Nevada caucuses will be held within three days of each other, so a candidate winning both of them could have real momentum going into Florida, which holds its winner-take-all primary on March 15.

But Trump may not need much momentum from a string of early state wins to prevail in Florida. According to a new Florida Atlantic University poll, Trump is strengthening in Florida, with 36 percent of GOP voters backing him thus far. To put that in perspective, Trump has more support there than both of Florida's favorite son candidates, Governor Jeb Bush and Senator Marco Rubio, combined.

I'm not a fan but Trump is a smart guy who unlike obama will actually appoint real advisors not political hacks to his inside ring. One of the hallmarks of truly smart people is that they realize when they Do Not know something or understand a situation. They don't try to bluff or pretend they are above it all and make decisions based on their own egos.

Good point. Trump is a very quick study and is persuadable when new information is provided. Obama doesn't change his mind on anything. He is ALWAYS correct. If he's presented with contrary ideas, he views it as a personal attack on his 'correctness'.

One of the hallmarks of truly smart people is that they realize when they Do Not know something or understand a situation. They don’t try to bluff or pretend they are above it all and make decisions based on their own egos. They hire the best people and WORK with them to learn, understand and plan.

As opposed to Obama, who only hires people that are even dumber than he is:

"I think that I'm a better speechwriter than my speechwriters. I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I'll tell you right now that I'm gonna think I'm a better political director than my political director."

Im down for Cruz in the SC ... but it's a minority opinion (unfortunately)

Cruz in SC is forever ... any OTHER position is temporary

“I think we would be better served with Cruz on the Supreme Court.”.......

Why not both? Cruz is still a relatively young man with the smarts and fortitude to be the VP for 8 years and then President for another 8 years. When he has completed those terms THEN the SC. Getting the nod for the SC now would dilute his potential to do some real good as he would become only one voice in a group of many.

Carson wont be a factor in any voting after the first 2-4 States. He’ll be at the low level of JEB or Kasich, if they’re still running then.

Sorry if I am regurgitating your words. I just can't stand the current direction of the country under Ovomit. It's more than depressing...

Good posting. .....I’ve also noticed how obama has always stocked his cabinet with minorities and the supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood. He holds big events at the White House for every Muslim holiday. ....What a POS!

Being a VP really sucks. Cruz on the Supreme Court however would be a big strategic move to sway the balance and keep Roberts in check. He might even run a few of the libs off.

“that’s if the establishment doesn’t ‘take him out’”

Well, if they try, they’re going to have to do it out in the open and it will mean an end to the Republican Party.

The antics of the jihadis and the Black Lives Matter crowd are generating votes for Trump just as the race rioters, campus demonstrators, peaceniks and hippies stimulated votes for Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan in the 1960’s.

Ya think??

The more of his true self Obama becomes, the better Trump will do, (I believe the nasty taunting Obama of last week is the real guy himself)

I’d really hate to see Ted Cruz shut behind court room doors. He is much too talented for this. Yes, he would make a great SC Justice, but I think he would be an awesome VP or AG - he could do so much in these positions.

I also do not want to see Cruz in a black dress for life; I’d like to have him be veep and then Pres.

“What we have in office is a man whose pettiness and vanity mask his ineptitude and inability to work with others because he’s afraid to show he’s really ignorant.”

He needs a better mask.

I like Cruz for the SC too, but one note of caution. John Roberts and Ted Cruz are good buddies and we all know how putting John Roberts on the SC worked out for conservatives.

“I am praying he limits his ‘slamming tweets’ to Hillary, Obama, john-F-kerry and demonic-rats.”

I don’t know. Rubio is well deserving of all the scorn The Donald can muster...

There is time for the Hildabeast later.

Let us hope that we’re able to have free elections to elect Trump President. I’m starting to doubt that.
