Opinion: Sorry Trump, "Operation Wetback" Was a National Disgrace
NBC News ^ | November 11, 2015 | Raul A. Reyes

... Although Trump glibly describes "Operation Wetback" as moving undocumented immigrants "waaay south," this program was at best inhumane and at worst horrific. Back then, the government rounded up suspected undocumented immigrants and sent them deep into the Mexican interior, where they were abandoned with next to nothing. The transports across the border were reportedly "indescribable scenes of human misery and tragedy." In one instance, 88 deportees died from heat stroke in the desert. Other deportees were sent to the Mexican Gulf Coast by ship, in vessels described by historians as an "eighteenth century slave ship" or "penal hell ship." ...

Agree! At least the invaders are being sent home and not being immediately executed or ‘whatever’. Perhaps government could produce a few jobs for those who are searching...put a bounty on the invader’s head. JAO

The Communists are further reproached with desiring to abolish countries and nationality.

The working men have no country. We cannot take from them what they have not got. Since the proletariat must first of all acquire political supremacy, must rise to be the leading class of the nation, must constitute itself the nation, it is so far, itself national, though not in the bourgeois sense of the word.

National differences and antagonism between peoples are daily more and more vanishing, owing to the development of the bourgeoisie, to freedom of commerce, to the world market, to uniformity in the mode of production and in the conditions of life corresponding thereto.

The supremacy of the proletariat will cause them to vanish still faster. United action, of the leading civilised countries at least, is one of the first conditions for the emancipation of the proletariat.

In proportion as the exploitation of one individual by another will also be put an end to, the exploitation of one nation by another will also be put an end to. In proportion as the antagonism between classes within the nation vanishes, the hostility of one nation to another will come to an end.

-Karl Marx, “The Communist Manifesto”

I believe it is a very much controlled invasion. The way to stop it:
1) our own Govt. ceases and desists from advertising on billboards and radio in Central American countries to “come on up” and we’ll let you in, no problemo;
2) no one will hire you if you do come with criminal jail-time penalties for employers who do hire you;
3) no one will enroll your children in school under the same penalties in #2 above;
4) no health care beyond a life-threatening emergency (no more anchor babies);
5) no govt. welfare benefits under penalties described in #2 above (the Baptists, Lutherans and Catholics out there who want to spend their congregations’ own money can do so, but no more tax payer dollars to provide this bogus “charity”);
6) no one will rent you a place to live also with penalties described in #2 above.
7) Finally, NO more blanket acceptance of “Refugees” pouring in from predominantly muslim countries - the UN is dictating how many and from where. This must stop Now!

Was the deportations unpopular with the general population? No, I never saw that, even in the late 1960s. I don’t know where NBC is coming from on this except via complaining farmers.

People generally wanted the braceros to go home after the war. Lyndon Johnson stuck his foot in the door (just like Obama) as the Senate Majority Leader -- now why'd he do that? Must have been his eleemosynary impulses </s> -- and it took an executive order (E.O.) signed by Pres. Eisenhower to send the visitors back home.

Landslide Lyndon knew about the kneejerk voting tendencies of Mexicans (South Americans split their votes), that's where he was coming from, hoping to cash in on (then) 40 years of Mexican Communism.

I was watching a documentary about Guatemalans coming north through Mexico.

It shows Mexicans afraid to help them because helping an illegal immigrant is a felony with a 6 year prison sentence.

Their laws on illegal immigration are pretty tough.

If you make the return trip miserable, then perhaps there will be fewer that try to return.

There have to be consequences, otherwise, the behavior continues.

My first thought was that it sounds somewhat harsh, but then considering the fact that they walked into our country with the clothes on their backs by choice, then putting them back where they came from is equal to the free choice they made coming to the US. Also, its not like they dont have family to help them in their home country.

A million legal immigrants per year, another million illegal immigrants per year, and a million abortions per year, year after year, decade after decade, and you see profound demographic shifts.

We are being replaced. We are doing it to ourselves. Our betters are doing it to us.

40 million people out of work and we keep bringing in more people by the millions per year.

Millions and millions of us emphatically agree with Trump.

No one gives a tinker's damn what this author has to say.

Even some libtards are smart enough to understand that the house of free stuff collapses sooner with open borders. Imagine that!

Does this jose think we give a damn about what happens to the illegal invaders? He ought to think again.
