"Help me lay my baby to rest," is the heading of a GoFundMe page set up for the mother of slain Chicago youth, Tyshawn Lee, who was shot down last week in an alley on Chicago's South Side, lured there by his father's gang rivals, police say.
Chaquela Moore created the page on Nov. 2 for her friend, Karla Lee, the boy's mother, according to the site. By Sunday, it had raised $17,492 of a $10,000 goal, including donations from 727.
But a firestorm of controversy erupted Saturday after the mom reportedly posted several now deleted Instagram videos that defended her purchase of the car with some of the money, saying she needs it for protection because she is afraid to walk or take the bus, according to DNAInfo.
"If a m-----f----- telling you they gonna try to take your life, too, because of whatever the f--- is going on ... they already took my son. I walk to work, I get on the bus. I'm not trying to be a target for nobody," Lee said in one of the deleted Instagram videos, writes DNAInfo.

She won’t have it very long. She’ll be car jacked in no time. Long before it gets repo’d.
A few questions.
The MSRP is 22k. Did she set up payments with her welfare money?
If she is as afraid as she claims, why didn’t she use the money to get set up in a better neighborhood?
Amen. I would use the money to pull up stakes and start anew, as far away as possible.
THE MONEY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR THE BOY'S FUNERAL!!!
Do you understand it now?
I know this will come as a shock to you, but $117 is well more than is needed for any funeral.
Then, if we do a little bit of basic math we see that a whole lot of money is left over. She decided to spend some of that one a car.
You can choose to be outraged if you wish, but it is silly.
Now if you want the ridiculous thing, it was people still pumping money into a funeral fund past the 100K mark.
This.
And is she were smart, she'd get the hell outta Dodge. All her neighbors now know she's got a bunch of money.
