Religious kids are harsher and less generous than atheist ones, study says
Oregonian ^ | 11/05/2015 | Melissa Binder

A new study in the journal Current Biology found children in religious households are significantly less generous than their non-religious peers. . . . .

Americans overwhelmingly elect Christian representatives, and they distrust atheists.

This study challenges those attitudes. It was the children in non-religious homes most likely to be generous toward a stranger. The longer a child had lived in a religious home, the stingier he was compared to his secular peers.

The Oregonian is now running weekly articles slamming Christians. Remember, the Communist persecution of Christians started in the press.

The give away:

“Nearly 1,200 children from the U.S., Canada, Jordan, Turkey, South Africa and China participated. Most of the kids came from Christian, Muslim or non-religious households, with a small number from Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and agnostic homes.”

How much you want to bet a large percentage of the sample were in fact Muslim...

Another liberal socialist “study says” unchristian crap that we are all supposed to just except and adjust our way of living and culture over!

I can hardly wait for the study about Islam and just how stingy they are!

So the indoctrination goes unabated...

Living the 1930s Nazi Germany all over again.

For someone to give to a total stranger is a personal choice.

I can’t fault a Christian who has given generously in the past only to get burnt or used to use wisdom in giving the next time around.

I guess they are talking about people who have been burnt by giving to drug addicts.

I wonder how long they had to look to find this article.

If you look long enough you can find a study that supports any opinion you might have.

Big difference between “religious” and “Christian”. Don’t know about the generosity of kids, but Christian adults are the most generous of all groups. (And, whether the Oregonian is aware of it or not, Atheism is a religion in its own right.)

The Oregonian is now running weekly articles slamming Christians.

Wasn't Oregon where the liberal asked if people were Christian before killing them?

They forgot to add that the atheists are more generous with other people’s money.

I don’t trust this at all. Study after study shows that Republicans (a good portion of which are Christians) give more to charity than Dems (who happen to be largely atheists). And you know that the majority of “relgiois” people surveyed in Turkey and Jordan were Muslims.

I have seen other data on charitable contributions by state that undermines this claim. Red states in the Bible Belt and Midwest invariably give more per-capita to charities than blue Liberal states in the Northeast or on the Left Coast.

Yep, very true with my Christian daughters. I taught them in my Christian household to be very stingy with their ammo. Only one shot per kill. Spray and pray was never acceptable.

This goes beyond nonsense into the foundational setup for persecution of Christians. As such it’s really a bigot’s tool.

See now this isn’t true. I did a study of my own children and grandchildren all of whom are Catholic Christians and they are very generous and kind. This holds just as much weight.

Every soup kitchen I have ever seen had a Bible verse above the door and was staffed by Christians...and not a single liberal to be found helping out.

Here's how the study worked: researchers asked kids to play a game which required them to decide how many stickers to share with an anonymous peer from the same school and similar ethnic group.

In other words, garbage.

In our sample, 23.9% of households identified as Christian (n = 280), 43% as Muslim (n = 510), 27.6% as not religious (n = 323), 2.5% as Jewish (n = 29), 1.6% as Buddhist (n = 18), 0.4% as Hindu (n = 5)
