The Executive Director of the Democratic Governors Association, Elisabeth Pearson, issued a statement Tuesday night crediting Donald Trump with creating the political conditions of âoutsiderâ popularity that allowed Republican Matt Bevin to win the Kentucky governorâs race over Democrat candidate Jack Conway.
. . .
ââAttorney General Jack Conway ran a strong campaign focused on the issues that matter to Kentuckians: good schools, good-paying jobs and economic opportunity,â Pearson said. âUnfortunately, he ran into the unexpected headwinds of Trump-mania, losing to an outsider candidate in the year of the outsider. While Jack Conway came up just short tonight, his presence in this race strengthened the issues debate in Kentucky.ââ

If Trump is the nominee I think he would put New York in play.
Yes! OK. It is a sign of the times. Obama as a sign of the times caused Trump.
Not until the inauguration in January
Forget the nomination..... TRUMP will win the Presidential election in a LANDSLIDE with 52-53% of the popular vote.
I don’t see any coattails on Book-Signin’ Ben.

BFL
Most States are in play if the silent conservative majority is motivated to vote. Certainly with the current downfall of America you would like to think that the majority will turnout despite the GOP elite.
Sometimes good things happen. I am thrilled that Bevin pulled it out. KY will be the better for it.
The Trump Tsunami is coming. This is just the beginning.
There may be a similar sweep coming, wouldnât it be great if The Donald could knock off a prize like New York State?
Yes. I totally agree.
I also think that the ‘conservative movement’ during the past 25 years after Reagan... has been HIJACKED by political and corporatists opportunists, who mask themselves in the name and philosophy of ‘conservative’ just to get the VOTE and stay in power!
Which is where we are today... them colluding with the liberal/Democrat party to pass legislation that favors their real constituencies (Democrats having been more inclined to be loyal to their constituencies than Republicans).
Since when did trump become part of the Tea Party? I know he has defended the Tea Party, but he stated he will not shrink social programs and wants to tax the “rich” more.
