Democrats Credit ‘Trump-Mania’ for Matt Bevin’s Shock Victory in Kentucky Governor Race

The Executive Director of the Democratic Governors Association, Elisabeth Pearson, issued a statement Tuesday night crediting Donald Trump with creating the political conditions of ‘outsider’ popularity that allowed Republican Matt Bevin to win the Kentucky governor’s race over Democrat candidate Jack Conway.

. . .

““Attorney General Jack Conway ran a strong campaign focused on the issues that matter to Kentuckians: good schools, good-paying jobs and economic opportunity,” Pearson said. “Unfortunately, he ran into the unexpected headwinds of Trump-mania, losing to an outsider candidate in the year of the outsider. While Jack Conway came up just short tonight, his presence in this race strengthened the issues debate in Kentucky.””

The way things are going, he'll implode every day, until he becomes the 45th POTUS, and then he'll really implode!

I'm not changing my tagline, though.

It’s easy to know why Trump and Bevin are happening.

It’s called Obama!

“Bevin was hanging around with Ted Cruz this summer.”

I noticed that when Boehner resigned, some on this site quickly assigned the cause of Boehner’s resignation to the brilliant behind-the -scenes work of Cruz. They neglected to assign the choice of Ryan to Cruz.

Methinks The Donald will be tweeting the DemonCraps’ explanation for Bevin’s win high and low for the next few weeks. BTW, the polls were going against Bevin far harder than they are (partially) going against The Donald now.

The Dems, Media and GOP-E have missed AGAIN. Trumpmainia is a symptom of another illness they have miss diagnosed. And the illness is NOT a lack of white blood cells. It’s a Red, White and Blue virus that was originally diagnosed as “Tea Party.” Apparently it is contagious and spreading.

“Attorney General Jack Conway ran a strong campaign focused on the issues that matter to Kentuckians...” They (Kentuckians) just didn’t believe him.

Trump has changed the political landscape, even if he doesn't win, which he will.

The political war has changed battlefields, it was liberal vs conservative, now it is nationalist vs gloBULList. The old war is over but some don't get it yet.

True or not they sound a little paranoid. That's a good thing.

Trump mania didn’t cause it. Rather, his win and trump mania are caused by the same thing. Plus, the Kim Davis thing was a wake up call to a LOT of conservative dems in this state.

Nine points in a race with a minor 3rd party guy...means that the Democrats burned through cash and got absolutely no results possible. Some big donors are going to look at this...2016....and question why give to Hillary, she can’t win. If Trump is the guy after the convention...I think you will see the DNC do a rapid slow-down and just try hard to look impressive with minor cash flow.

Trunp campaigned in Kentucky? Ran commercials? Anything? Seems therefore a real stretch to link Trump to Republican wins in Kentucky.

That’s a laugh. Only Conway campaigning I saw or heard were recycled McConnell ads from last year. Plus, the state had to hire an outside attorney for its case against Gay Marriage after Conway recused himself and wouldn’t pursue it because of his “personal beliefs”.

So now if something should happen to Senator McConnell, heaven forbid, Gov Bevin will be able to name his replacement. Interesting.

It’s not Obama. Like Trump and Bevin, Obama is just a symptom.

The underlying issue is the rise and success of Social Justice Warrior bullying and political correctness. People are tired of it and are rallying around things and issues that are fighting back.

Bevin won in good part due to backlash over Kim Davis. The Houston HERO ordinance got crushed because the Mayor went full-on PC Facist, portraying opponants as the worst sort of bigots and then using the power of the government to threaten and intimidate them into complying (subponea’s for those pastor’s sermons).

There was an article posted here yesterday about how Republicans and Democrats increasingly HATE each other. Which isn’t something that will end well ...

Conway also ran away from the Kim Davis controversy.

Attorney General Jack Conway ran a strong campaign focused on the issues that matter to Kentuckians: good schools, good-paying jobs and economic opportunity, Pearson said.

Utter nonsense! Conway's ads were all about some old, old, tax liens that were cleared up decades ago and misrepresentations of his spoken words.
