“Typically they don’t turn out this way.”
Gee, that makes a dead rancher all that much better. /s
this story is full of Bull
Wow. What a cluster. Shooting, car wreck, raging bull, heart attack...
The deputies have returned safely to their families and to their homes. What else could had be asked?
Wow...that was certainly handled poorly.
The rancher probably wanted to shoot the bull himself for the meat.
This is pretty obvious.
The bull was aggressive, causing an accident.
When the deputies arrived, it was still being aggressive, charging at emergency responders and likely the deputies. When people’s lives are at risk, those in the Subaru, LEOs do not screw around with aggressive and dangerous animals.
Then the rancher shows up and doesn’t want them to shoot his bull. In that situation he is not really different than a large dog owner whose animal is threatening people.
Just FYI, cows and bulls kill on average 20 Americans a year. You do not screw around with an aggressive bull.
Not much good happens after dark out in public.
F ing Subaru drivers.
As a trucker who drives over 100,000 miles per year, Subarus are the worst that I encounter daily. Their driving habits match their Obama and Sanders stickers.
To No.1. How about “hungry” deputies? BBQ anyone?
My guess is the rancher wanted to put down his own critter and the Barney Fife didn’t want him to. Just guessin.
If Yantis fired his weapon, it seems unlikely that he fired it at the bull.
I hope there is video.
Is this like stoning the owner of the bull that gores?
Ping.
Whatever happened to the days when every officer knew every rancher in small towns and these things were just naturally sorted out among friends? This is awful and sad...plus a sad commentary about the times we live in.
Something bad wrong with this whole story. Really bad. Probably on both sides.
When the “law” decides it wants to kill a pet or some livestock, it’s gonna kill it no matter how many people have to be put down to make it possible.....<p.That was tongue-in-cheek because we really have no idea of what really went down.
From the comments at the article:
Jack, Donna and Rowdy, Donna’s nephew, showed up to take care of their bull. Jack was bent down and a*second from shooting the bull when a cop grabbed him from the back and spun him around. He shot Jack in the stomach and the other cop shot him 4 times in the chest. The cops were standing behind Jack. Donna and Rowdy rushed down to Jack and the cops threw them face down on the ground and had guns to their head. Between what happened to her husband and the rough treatment, she had a massive heart attack. She was life flighted to Boise. She had another last night. This story came from Jack’s nephew and it was told to him by Rowdy. The sheriff wanted Rowdy to change his account. The bull (becoming aggressive) seems key to the story but it wasn’t even in the account I heard from Jack’s nephew. There was crew trying to get the people out of the car that hit the bull. This sounds like a big coverup to me (the news account). I just can’t understand how those cops could have done that. We seem to get the ex military rambos around here. I’ve heard plenty about these deputies being difficult. I don’t know how Donna is doing. I hate to bother the family. I am pretty close to her and I’m so worried she isn’t going to make it.(This is a post on FB)Reply With Quote
