In spite of this, Pew reports, the American public believes that homicides and gun deaths are increasing in the United States. Those who think violence is getting worse should probably watch less television and look around them instead. The murder rate in the US is currently similar to 1950s levels.
Meanwhile, the number of privately owned guns (and gun commerce in general) in the United States has increased substantially in recent decades.

If people cannot fight back against vioent attackers, theres no incentive for the violent attackers to not be violent, and not attack.

I think a lot of the reason homicide rates have dropped is because of advancements in the medical industry. Plus everyone has a cell phone so authorities can be contacted quicker.

So IF the left are truly genuine about cutting down on gun violence, they should be encouraging law abiding citizens to purchase more guns
But we all know the left aren’t truly concerned with gun violence, they only care about disarming law abiding citizens so that criminals will have easier victims
