I sincerely believe in climate change too, but I call it weather. I sincerely believe in global warming too, but I call it summer.
What, Ted. Why smear religion by comparing it to this?
Anyone with a smidgeon of common sense would know that the sun causes the climate to change.
There, I just engaged my intellect.
Anyone who wants proof that “global warming” is not science has to go no further than the phrases “the science is settled” or “97 percent consensus” as support for a position. No scientist would ever use either phrase to support a scientific position.
Science is never settled. See, for example, Einstein’s special relativity modification of Newton’s Laws of Motion, Einstein’s general relativity modification of Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation, and the Bohr/Heisenberg quantum/uncertainty modifications of the laws of motion.
Consensus is never relevant to science. See, for example, Galileo’s lonely quote while under duress and commenting on the Copernican heliocentric theory, “nevertheless, the earth does move” v. the Ptolemaic sun-centered theory.
As have dozens of people I know.
It is common joke about The Church of Global Warming, Pastor: AlGore
Ted is right. It’s a new religion to replace another failed one - Marxism. And hucksters jump on the bandwagon trying to line their pockets. Some very successfully, a la Al Gore.
Climate Change is the pseudo-scientific equivalent to Islam.
Cruz, to his credit, has said this and IIRC so has Trump. Read the comments on that video to get just a tip of understanding how sad the state of science education or engineering is in the country. I believe it more of a pure cult rather that a religion but it’s scary how many people don’t even question the numbers behind the global warming claims.
Was that from Michael Crichton’s book?
Who ever said it, nailed it.
Dude, is Trump living in your head rent free 24/7?
Love you, Ted, but do not denigrate religion.
>>I agree with everything you said but would like to add, evolution is also a religion.<<
Yeah, not so much....
I’m glad Cruz has made his position clear. In fact, every GOP candidate should be precisely clear on what they think of all the government spending on “climate change.”
Bush II, for example, did a tremendous disservice when he stated that it was a real concern that had to be addressed.
We don’t need another GOP President who continues the damage.
It was indeed Michael Crichton.
