Last April, Crowley Political Report asked the question - should Jeb Bush step aside for Marco Rubio?
Now, with Bush's bid for the Republican presidential nomination in deep trouble, Bush the father may well start wondering if a humiliating defeat could harm the political future of his son, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush.
George P is the next chapter of the Bush family political legacy that started with his great-grandfather, the late U.S. Senator Prescott Bush. He is only two years younger than his father when Jeb first ran for Florida governor in 1994 - and lost. There seems to be little doubt that George P. could run for Texas governor or the U.S. Senate.
Rubio was 39 when he won his first statewide race in 2010. George P. was 38, when he won his first statewide race last year.
They are the new generation of Republicans.

The question presupposes that little jorge is somehow destined to be a viable candidate. What arrogance.
I understand that P is the father of an infant and a toddler. When will people start talking about their political futures?
1-Let him burn up all the money the GOPe and treasonous lobbyiests throw at him.
2-Make the world hate the name Bush, that no Bush will ever be able to run for anything, including elementary school student council, EVER again.
No. The Bush family should step aside for the political future of America, and both major parties should stop trying to establish dynasties in which insiders with name recognition play on the family name to get votes from low-information voters.
Bye bye Jeb. I would be extremely skeptical of any Bush, but Jeb “Act of Love” Bush wouldn’t get my vote with any last name, not even as a cousin of Palin/Trump/Cruz.

Of course he is going to run for governor of Texas.
That is as obvious as his running for Land Commissioner.
Then, of course he is going to run for the presidency. He thinks it is his birthright.

I have read that George P. doesn’t go to the office much himself.
Jeb is a hypocrit complaining about Rubio not working in the Senate. Different rules for different people.
George P need to pay back the taxpayers of the Great State of Texas for all the days he’s skipped work this year.
No. GP has already destroyed any chance of advancement in Texas. He was elected Land Commissioner and has spent more time on daddy’s campaign than in his office. He’s wasting Texans’ tax dollars. He should resign and repay every last dime of his paychecks. He’ll never get a vote from this household.
The Bush dynasty is done, period.
ALL of them should just crawl in a hole, enjoy the fact they are now part of American history, good or bad, and shut up!
Regardless of the reason, Jeb should step aside.
Goerge P. should also received the same warm welcome from the voters.

George P has the same, or worse, work attendance record as Rubio...the guy who Jebbers blasted for.....missing work.

The Houston Chronicle examined Bush’s calendar, agency records and social media accounts to determine that he had been away on personal time related to the presidential campaign and other reasons for 23 of the first 50 work days since his father, Jeb Bush, announced his bid on June 15.
