THE NINE REPUBLICANS WHO DIDN'T VOTE FOR PAUL RYAN
Vanity | 10/30/2015 | Self

Posted on 10/30/2015 4:02:25 AM PDT by Nextrush

I wanted to post this so everyone who wanted to could see just how bad things are in the Republican Party and in Washington .

As Representative Thomas Massie said last week only five were willing to oppose Boehner on January 6th and yesterday only he and eight others were willing to oppose Paul Ryan.

The nine voted for Daniel Webster of Florida, who actually told his supporters not to vote for him and Webster ended up supporting Ryan. More proof of the phony baloney nature of the "House Freedom Caucus".

The nine are:

Thomas Massie-Kentucky

Dave Brat-Virginia

Louie Gohmert-Texas

Randy Weber-Texas

Paul Gosar-Arizona

Walter B. Jones-North Carolina

Ted Yoho-Florida

Curtis J. Clawson-Florida

Bill Posey-Florida

As for the rest who supported Ryan in the GOP (236). I guess we just have a big pile of excrement to clean up.

If Daniel Webster told others not to vote for him and he ended up voting for Ryan anyhow, why is it a principled vote when these 9 voted for him?

They could’ve voted for anyone else - even someone not in the house. This wasn’t a Hobson’s choice...

We just got a republican back in the 2014 election after 4 terms or so of a Dhimmicrat . The area went from liberal to moderate (what you call liberal elsewhere). I see no way our congressman, Lee Zeldin, would have gone any other way. It is the curse of the northeast

Three Floridians. Wish I had one with sense. I am stuck with Gwen Graham-Florida.

I like Gohmert. He would make a fine GOP whip.

Webster probably wanted to show a united caucus. He’s that kind of guy. The vote was lost, so let’s get together and move forward. He’s not one driven by ego or self-promotion.

My rep, Posey, is one of the least ego driven or self promoted types you could find.....

There is still this thing called.....integrity.....and loyalty.
Old fashion concepts, I know......but mercy do we need them now!!!

“Daniel Webster of Florida, who actually told his supporters not to vote for him and Webster ended up supporting Ryan.”

This whole thing was rigged. Now Boehner 2.0 runs the House.

Problem is that Ryan now figures he has a mandate. He was voted in by a super duper majority and I am sure he recognizes that. I still blame the Tea Party for not even having a candidate that had the the courage to run for Leader. They all crawled in their mega mansion and poor Ryan had to be practically forced and hog tied into taking the position. The last thing on Earth did Ryan want was Leader. This will screw up any plans he ever had of becoming President.

I wonder how many of those 236 voted for Boner the last time around?

‘Paul Gosar-Arizona’

This is why Club for Growth tried so hard to defeat Gosar in the primary. He’s anti-amnesty, solidly conservative, and unwilling to place party unity above fidelity to his constituency.

What’s WRONG is that ONLY nine did not vote for a RINO.

I know Dan Webster from his days in the Florida legislature and respect him. There is usually little to be gained in politics by being a bitter die hard type permanently at odds with your party and its leadership. Having dared to challenge Ryan but not getting near enough support to make a go of it, Webster endorsing and voting for Ryan in the end was to be expected, not so much for Ryan’s sake but as a sign of respect for and accord with the decision of the House GOP caucus.

It was difficult to tell listening to Speaker Ryan’s acceptance speech, if he was going to have an open door for the Heroic Nine, and the democrats, or if it was only for a united Republican majority and the Democrats.

We will find out soon enough as the “agenda” unfolds, but it appeared that he was speaking out of both sides of his mouth while sending interesting messages about doing the peoples business. Just way too much approval from the democrat side of the isle from my perspective. I am not comfortable with what I see and hear.

That would be, democrats represent x millions of people, Republicans represent x millions, and nine tea party republican holdouts and party poopers represent whom?

What Paul Ryan does not seem to understand, is the nine party poopers represent enough to sink the Presidential aspirations of any Republican.

Listened to Ryan's speech. His mantra was move on which means giving Obama a mulligan on everything he has done along with the IRS, EPA, and Fast and Furious.
