Brit Hume attacks Ted Cruz at the end of the debate

Ugh. Brit Hume couldn't wait to pounce on Ted Cruz at the end of the debate when he was talking about how he has fought for the American people: Brit Hume doesn't get it. It's not always about winning. I mean that would be awesome, yeah? It's about standing up for conservative principles and fighting for this country as it is barreling towards economic catastrophe.

Also, how else would we know what Cruz stands for if he hasn't stood? That's also the part that those like Hume don't get. These Republicans have given so much to Obama, including his Iran deal, that we don't even know what they stand for anymore.

Can you really tell me that you think John Boehner is serious about repealing Obamacare? But you know who is serious about it? Ted Cruz. And we know that because of what he did in 2013.

It's not rocket science.

Most FOX people are as bad as the rest of the media, IMO.

no media figure has gone downhill the last ten years like Brit Hume. He’s just awful. Used to be the best. Too long in Washington.

Brit, Take a look at how many battles Geo. Washington won.

(perfect name for this analogy too)

Those "conservative" commentators on Fox are establishment pimps.

I'm not looking for a newsman to "take my side" on the issues. Just report honestly and fairly, please. I can make up my own mind.

Yes, newer viewers may not know this, but I always thought Brit Hume was the gold standard in nightly news.

He always delivered the news straight up.

I have no idea what has happened to him.

Prep School Rino while his classmates at St. Albans were Senators, Al Gore and John Kerry.

He just got to report on them, he thinks he is a Bush son.

I was at a fishing Tournament that the Bush's GH, GW and Jeb were in and Britt was on their boat.

Yes but didn't you also notice how Baxter tried to spin Cruz's response as ducking the question on the budget battle? When Cruz tried to return to the original question that POS harwood cut him off. But the truth never matters to Baxter when he's trying to kneecap a Conservative.

He pulled the same garbage 4 years ago on Santorum, and the same garbage 8 years ago on Fred Thompson.

No surprise. Ever since Hume left Special Report he’s become a total d-head.

Hey Brit, you are one of the reasons I quit watching FOX in
2012.

You know what? I haven’t missed it or you.

“I think Hume is GOPe to the bone. He and George Will and Krauthammer suffer from the Pauline Kael syndrome.”

Will and Hume suffer from Beltway Bullcrap Syndrome. Krauthammer is somewhat better.

Ask Ted how many court cases he has won when it was just him facing the Supreme Court.

I'm sure you know.. Cruz has plead 9 cases in front of the Supreme Court and has won ALL 9.

Sorry, but Bret Hume is one of those that support the continuing demise of the Republican Party (as a news fellow, he should know better), not by choice but by ignorance and or bribery - ah on second though, because he wants to become rich after office. A major problem skipped by the so called conservative media... Bastards all of them!

I think there was more than one of those types of cases. One was the 10 Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds and the other was a case in which he represented Utah over the crosses erected on the highways to honor deceased state troopers.

Cruz has quite an impressive record in his legal career.

Think that Brit has been ground down from the time he was the only real conservative at the FNC Sunday show. But his son killed himself, and Brit committed himself anew to Jesus. Very much a Washingtonian, Hume went to St.Albans prep school. He seems sad and “mailing it in” a lot.

Generally, his work has been conservative, as WH correspondent for ABC in the Clinton years, particularly (hard not to be in clintoon WH).

The old games are all shifting.

One does have to fight every incrementalist step of the Left, because if you don’t they will never let go or stop their monomaniacal pursuit of Statism.

But out of the entire Senate Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and very few others are the only ones standing up to this. What would you have them do that they already haven’t done that would have resulted in a win in a corrupt Senate with guys who are supposed to be on their side fighting against them?

It’s like expecting George Washington to have won the Revolutionary War with 90% of his troops fighting against him for the British.

Give Cruz his due. Most other Senators (and I no quite a few who have done this) would have given in after a few months and buckled under the pressure to go along with the herd. He risked his political career doing what he has done. It probably would have been easier for him and he would have been more successful playing with the team.

The fact that he loses but still keeps fighting IMO shows him to be exactly what we need. He keeps going when all odds are against him instead of taking the easy way out. If he would just play nice he could have a long Senate career, make himself rich and retire like a king. That’s the route most of the Senate has taken.

If the GOP Senator's obeyed the promises they made while campaigning, all those losses would have been victories.
