One would think that an armed 15 year police veteran paired with a K9 would be a formidable foe for anyone. That said, nothing good can be expected after evading police in a stolen vehicle at 2am.
how about the cop "missed" and jerked the trigger or was in a fight. It's not like TV or the movies.
If a perp had tried to kill my son’s K-9, he would have put more than one round in the ahole’s head.
The kid sounds like trouble. Let’s see if he has a rapsheet (and I don’t mean as a singer).
Anyone stupid enough to try and kill a K9 while fleeing the police deserves to be shot. A K9 is actually an official police department member - my son’s dog had a federal badge.
Attacking a K9 is a federal or state offense, just as would be attacking the officer per se.
Don’t believe the first news stories as they are usually long on hype and short on facts. That is why I refused to be a journalist for a daily newspaper. You never would have enough accurate information to put into a real story before deadline time. No use making a fool of yourself.
They might have been neck deep in the swamp - or the perp was bending over trying to drown the cop. Might have been at close range.
You say you'll wait for further info yet continue to make unfounded insinuations.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Fully rehabilitated now...
Yes, I see that. Thanks.
The animal died and the dog lived. Good outcome.
You rarely hear of a Tampa cop shooting without a similar ending. If the cops draw, someone dies. My expectation when I carry is the same. If I have to draw, the threat will be resolved.
Deadly force is deadly. The aim for (insert favorite less-than-lethal target here) is unreasonable. As a Tampa resident, I do not fear the police— though they are too numerous for my taste.
All that said, I’m not sure the shooting was warranted—reciprocity of force appears to be an anachronism these days. Then again, it almost seems that there is no good response to an aggressive suspect. I wouldn’t want to be in LE these days.
The guy might have committed suicide.
My scenario holds as much water as your cop hating blind speculation.
The gene pool just improved a bit.
Lebanez?
“Lebanez?”
No. After a little research the surname seems to come from the Philippines.
2:30 AM at Nebraska and Lake Avenue? In a stolen car? Right, like ANYTHING good is going to come out of that situation.
As a teenager growing up in Tampa, there were certain givens: you didn’t go into areas where you were sure to get in trouble; obey the curfew - or find the door locked; and NEVER fight the police.
It’s amazing how much common sense we’ve lost in 60 years.
Who’s a good doggie?
“Kobvey Igbuhay, an immigrant from the island of Pidgin.”
Center of mass. YOU try shooting a target of a human silhouette in an arm, leg or hand. Add to that movement and stress and THEN try it. If you have to pull a gun, you aim for the easiest target - center of mass.
This appears to be his main online presence with lots of pictures and gang signs.
