AP-GfK Poll: Republicans Prefer Outside Candidate – 70% Support Trump

A new AP-GfK poll found that 77 percent of Republican voters prefer an outsider for their nominee. Seven in ten believe businessman Donald Trump has the best shot. AP-GfK reported:

MOST WANT AN OUTSIDER

By an overwhelming 77 percent to 22 percent margin, Republican registered voters say they prefer an outsider candidate who will change how things are done, rather than someone with experience in Washington who can get things done.

Similarly, they prefer someone with private-sector leadership experience over experience holding elected office, 76 percent to 22 percent.

By contrast, two-thirds of Democratic voters prefer experience in Washington over outsider status.

REPUBLICANS SEE TRUMP AS BEST SHOT

Seven in 10 Republicans and Republican-leaning registered voters say they think Trump could win in November 2016 if he were nominated; that’s the most of any Republican candidate.

Slightly fewer – about 6 in 10 – say they think either Carson or Bush could win a general election.

Rubio is the only other candidate viewed as electable by a majority of Republican voters, at 54 percent, while 47 percent think of Fiorina as a possible November winner.

Correct me if I am wrong: Trump is for single payer. If so, I can’t support him for the nomination, but might vote for him if he gets the nod. What’s up with that? Single Payer!!! I also worry his inner liberal will come out once elected. See his past positions on several issues. The guy is untrustworthy.

The EXEMPT undocumented Democrats:
"We're gonna get you bastards for not bowing down and supporting us,
and submitting to your King Obama, ObamaTRADE, ObamaCARE,
and our abuse of Vets, and long-term support of ISIS and al Qaeda.
For your patriotism, you better expect even more of our IRS attacks
on you "crazies", and your children and families".

Wrong Trump is for many payers as in more private insurance choices than anytime in history. There’s a particular 1946 law that he wants to eliminated after Trump gets ObamaCare repealed.

Consider yourself corrected He spoke approvingly of that type of system in the year 2000 but has since changed his mind. Trump wants to reform healthcare by lower the cost through market initiatives - but some of those initiatives would be through a centralized governmental agency. He wants to completely repeal ObamaCare and replace it with a better system. I am not completely sold on this plan but it is a huge step away from a classical NHS type system. Trump on HealthCare

You are wrong. He is not for single payer.

He also has been consistently conservative, as evidenced by his books. Definitely not untrustworthy.

On Trumps plan for Obamacare...

Lower state lines so insurance companies can compete in every state

Increased competition will lower premiums

Increased competition will increase they types of policies available

To cover the 45 million not insured now:

He wants to see hospitals, physicians, and insurance companies devise a plan to provide coverage for less

Remember that the Federal Government and States have always picked up the tab for indigent care. If someone goes to an emergency room, they have to be checked out. Covering the uninsured would merely be shifting the payment for this sort of thing.

One things that could be done would be to give folks with very little money, a policy that they could buy for very little money. Put a $10-20k deductable on it. In case of a problem, the government would only be out $10-20k or less.

This would limit government exposure on these plans.

It might be in some instances the government would have to cover the premiums on these plans. Even so, the government would be limited to the payout amount of $10-20k per incident.

I’m sure they paid out more than this before.

Of course i don’t have the exact numbers, but I believe a study group can come up with ways to cut government costs on indigent care, and that’s a plus for us all.

Trump wants as much as possible for this to be a private sector fix.

Remember, for the last few decades, at least three that I know of, the government has been picking up the cost of indigent care. Anything that can lower that cost is a plus.

We need to get it out of our heads, that we just starting picking up the cost of indigent care. That is not true.
