Maybe Carson is the ‘other white meat’ that American minorities will vote for...After all ... American minorities aren't real clear on how this politics thing works and if they ONLY vote for minorities... Carson is going to be more popular than these bonehead Conservatives thought.

Ask yourself this question:

How much news coverage does Carson get that does not involve his rise in the polls? It’s a significantly smaller amount than you’d imagine he’d need in order to gain this much in the polls.

He’s being pushed to split the “anti-establishment” vote by the GOPe because Trump is the guy they want gone. They’re hoping he gains actual traction by giving him fake traction. Kind of like how the Kardashians are famous for being famous, Carson is gaining poll support because he’s gaining poll support.

Boy they love Americans of African descent in Iowa. The democratic caucus of 08 is where it all started with race baiters shaming fellow Dhimmicrats into giving the black guy a chance...”It’s Time” (BTW I would love a black president, like Colonel West or Herman Cain).

Well that happened.....TWICE...so pick the most qualified this time Iowa.

3 things I would like to put in a constitutional amendment. Primaries not Caucuses (one man one vote) and a National Primary Day. All across the nation one day to vote in the primaries . And finally NO EARLY VOTING. unless you can bring a notarized letter stating you will be out of state or seriously handicapped . Then and only the. Will you get an absentee ballot

you rationalize and overlook the obvious......

Carson is the genuine article and lots and lots of folks have looked at the 17 and dismissed all but Dr Ben

you should submit to the reality......

Ridiculous

He is totally unqualified and even, for the most part, unknown as to his leadership qualities

A Republican for one year

And a man who already hints at deep racial grievances that could affect his domestic policies

No thanks

I don’t think Iowa has a good record of selecting the nominee
I think Iowa has selected Huckabee and Pat Robertson
Iowa may be a swing state but
Iowa Republicans seen to place a premium on Christianity

So maybe it does make sense

Not a whole lot of minority Republicans in Iowa, I don’t think. And what is there isn’t representative of the minority vote overall.

Some Freepers always fall for that idea that a black Republican will save the day with black Democrats.

I think Carson’s numbers will fall once he has to defend positions such as replacing Medicare with a $2k HSA subsidy.

I get people supporting Carson since he is an outsider, but I can’t support him due to his anti-2nd amendment and pro-amnesty stances.

It’s one poll that got the media the result they wanted. And now they will flog the hell out of it until another poll shows up contradicting it.

They hope to make hay out of it for a couple of days in hopes of generating a narrative. Just like all of those post-debate surveys showing how much Carly kicked butt...only to be nowhere today.

Not buying it. Or are these the 4 million crybabies who sat home in 2012?

Dr. Carson has some of the plusses that Donald Trump has, without the same personality, which isn't everybody's cup of tea.

I am a Cruz supporter, but can certainly understand why some Freepers like Carson, or Jindal or Walker for that matter.

Not a single vote has been cast yet. Anyone voting for a conservative (a subjective term, for some Carson doesn't qualify, for others Trump doesn't qualify) should not be made fun of for that decision.

I am one of the 4 million who would not vote for Mr. Romneycare. I do not regret it. IF Romney had won, we'd be rolling around on four flat tires, feeling obliged to stick with a tone deaf and malignant president wearing our brand.

Support Trump. Support Carson. Support Cruz. Defeat John Ellis Bush and his Super-Pac. It is too early to bash each other. Save it for Super Tuesday.

First it was Jeb. The it was Carly. Now it’s Dr. Ben. The RNC is going to run out of shooting stars at some point.

Something is missing. This does not jive with the large crowds at Trump rallies. I do think Carson is doing well in Iowa, but I am leery of a self created narrative from the media. also, the trend is opposite of the national.

Last time around our black candidate was a rocket scientist. This time we have a brain surgeon. That's a heck of a lot better than affirmative action positions like "diversity shake down artist" (Jesse Jackson) and Community Organizer (B.H. Obama).

I agree with many that Carson is a good man running for the wrong office. So far he has shown that his message resonates with many, and that he deserves a seat at the table and to be heard. A smart, good man running for the wrong office is better than what we have had for over 20+ years in office.

Not to me, unknown that is. Politics are alive and well in hospital settings. Some 30 years as director of pediatric neurosurgery at a place like John Hopkins means Dr. Carson has tons of leadership and political experience under his belt.
Also I happened to catch that speech he made at the national prayer breakfast and watched it closely several times a few years back. He said some things that I interpreted to be meaningful in zero’s direction at the very beginning.
Then he just blasted zero. It was awesome.
I have been a Cruz supporter but I would happily take Dr. Carson.

I don’t know but what I do know is I think we will lose the election if he is the nominee. He is not knowledgable enough and he has a way of saying things that make people scratch their heads even though he means well. It will not be good for him to be the nominee. Trump really could possibly beat Hillary. After yesterday, I think he may be the only one. Yes I know around here everyone says disaster but in the rest of the world it was a success. I didn’t watch it.

I see no reason to get either excited or upset because “Carson leaps ahead of Trump”.
Much to my chagrin, neither will be the Republican nominee.

I still fully expect Jeb to be the sacrificial lamb next November.
I do not think the Republican party wants to win the presidency. With both the House and the Senate (for two years at least) that would be too much responsibility.
Remember the Republican party has spent damn near a century being the minority party with a few presidents thrown in to keep us happy.
