Hillary Clinton again refused on Friday to describe what security measures were taken to protect the private email system she used as secretary of state. Instead, she offered a cagey response which highlights a notable shift in how she and her campaign are discussing the security of her home-brew system.
“What safeguards did you put in place to make sure that you weren’t hacked?” a reporter with the Boston Globe asked Clinton during an interview in Keene, N.H.
“Well, I can only tell you there is no evidence that I’m aware of that I ever was,” Clinton responded.

This is like a pedophile stating that although he did rape a child, no one was blackmailing him over it.
If you gave her a simple IT test of twenty-five questions...like how to cut-and-paste, how to use Excel, transferring files, etc. I think she basically knows enough to bring up email, read, and send....that’s it. Nothing else. All of these matters were handled by her people, in her interest, and other than wanting to hide her foundation and it’s purpose...that’s the only thing that was in her mind at the time.

Personally, I'd be happy to see her in an orange jumpsuit. However, you're right. She should have secured a lawyer when this story first broke. Instead, she's chosen to lie, parse statements, ect.
A good lawyer would give advice of when to speak and when to shut up. Her lying is helping the FBI build their case

that’s because she had no measures in place to protect the server from an attack. she believed placing the server in a bathroom closet was adequate protection. Who else believes she did not even have norton anti-virus or kapersky’s! Her belief was because she was Clinton, she was immune from any outside force. Probably believes she is invincible and that she is God!Let’s face it Clinton is a demogogue and the average person must fear her when she enters into any place as she is the brightest person around. Hell the woman’s ‘elevator does not go all the way to the top floor anymore’, or she is as they say “a few fries short of a happy meal.’
She knows the fix is in. If she loses the presidency Obozo will pardon her. If she wins the presidency she will fire anybody in the FBI that wants to prosecute her.
