Senate Democrats gathered Thursday on the steps of the Capitol surrounded by about a dozen armed guards to announce a new push for tougher gun-control laws.
The officers from the U.S. Capitol Police, who carried sidearms, were in addition to the regular detail paroling the Capitol ground due the large number of elected officials attending the event, according to a officer on the scene.
About 27 Democratic senators attended the event.

I don't know who the democrats THINK they are, but they don't take the Constitution and do with it as they please...you start messing around and there are going to be a lot of people hurt...
If you don't like the Constitution and can't live up to your oath to protect it like you said you were going to when you took office, QUIT and go home!!!
Screw’em ... I suggest instead they might want a Study to see what the Casualty Rate will be for their “Enforcers” and what additional Protection they may require during and after their little “Government Service”
Then let’s see if they can Outlaw Hemp Rope and Light-posts while they are at it.
(personally all I want is the “Split Bamboo Cane” Rental and the Beer Concession for the March on DC if these clowns even come close)
