On Monday, the Obama administration announced that President Obama would veto a defense authorization bill if it did not close down Guantanamo Bay. White House press secretary Josh Earnest explained that the House funding bill would be vetoed “principally because…of the irresponsible way that it funds our national defense priorities, but also because of the efforts to prevent the closure [of] the prison at Guantanamo Bay.” He added that Democrats would sustain Obama’s veto, and defense authorization would die.

I used to think they caved because they were afraid of the race card, and things like that. Now, I am far more cynical of them. They play with him, because I think the GOPe are complicit with him. They are two sides of the same coin.

Lawmakers says the goal was to get rid of the military’s current “one size fits all” approach in favor for a smarter, more practical policy for individual facilities.

I have reached the same conclusion. The "Partisan Divide" in DC is a lie. That is just a myth to keep us rubes in fly over land quite while we mindlessly cheer for one "side" or the other. The truth is there is one "Uniparty" in DC. It is Uniparty that is an unholy alliance between Political Power/Media Propaganda/Big Business Money. All the squabbling in DC is the fight over which piglet is going to get which slot at the tax money trough.

Well, I held out as long as I could, waiting for the pubbies to come through for us, but they betrayed us so many times, I don't trust a dang one of them. Ted Cruz maybe, but the rest can take a long walk off a short pier.
