Toys ‘R’ Us Forces U.S. College Grads To Train Their H-1B Foreign Replacements
Breitbart ^

Toys “R” Us is the latest in a string of U.S. companies that has been caught forcing their American employees to train foreign college-grads to take the Americans’ jobs, via a process known as “knowledge transfer.”

An expose by the New York Times revealed in detail how the renowned children’s toy-chain brought in eight workers from the global outsourcing company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The Indians shadowed employees, mainly in accounting, and produced intricate manuals for TCS workers in India to take over these jobs. By late June, the jobs had been transferred overseas and 67 employees had been laid off from Toys “R” Us, many of whom had reportedly been at the company for over a decade.

In the past I read a lot of stories about engineers and programmers getting screwed by the H1-B visas, now the accountants are also getting hit. Who is next?

As an aside, my BIL has worked for greedyland almost thirty years and I can assure you the extra money they are raking in is in no way shared with the people that work for them.

...

Companies that regularly bring in foreign slave labor don’t have to.

No reason to bring anyone here from overseas. We have millions of unemployed that need a job.

Actually if you look at the history of Walt Disney you will see that it has always been the philosophy of the Disney Co. to screw their employees, a philosophy that came back to bite Walt in the A$$ more than once.

Any jobs that aren’t on the floor are transferable.

This article is a bunch of crap. There is no company that is capable of making me train anyone. ( unless they don’t tell me, of course. )

Go home tell your wife you got laid off and you REFUSED severance pay. See how well that goes over.

It's more of a bribe. Train your replacement and you'll get severance and a good recommendation and can collect unemployment. Don't and you are fired for insubordination and can't even collect on the UI you've paid into all those years. But you are correct, nobody can FORCE you to choose the former over the latter. A private person doing this to another would be charged with extortion, but what the hey.

That does seem like a good question. How does management know they are being trained correctly?

I looked at who actually owns Toys 'R' Us now and the answer is:

Toys"R"Us, Inc. operated as a public company from 1978 until July 2005. At that time, an investment group consisting of affiliates of Bain Capital Partners LLC, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Vornado Realty Trust completed an acquisition of Toys"R"Us, Inc. for $6.6 billion. The acquisition encompassed all worldwide operations of Toys"R"Us, Inc., including the Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us businesses. With the completion of this transaction, each of the investors owns an equal stake in Toys"R"Us, Inc.

I wonder if Romney made money even though he supposedly was gone by then.

I know I will never buy another toy from there, but not like I have bought any toys from there in decades anyway.

Maybe each of the displaced workers can give a speech at that church in Houston for $50,000 like Jeb.
