Ham Sandwiches And Sausage Rolls May Be Banned From Office Kitchens For Being ‘Offensive’

Kitchens that are shared between office workers may soon be banned from storing pork products like sausage rolls over fears that they are “offensive”.

New guidelines proposed by interfaith group CoExist House say that employers should consider worker’s religions before allowing ham sandwiches placed in the fridge alongside other products.

The group also suggests that alcohol should not be served at corporate events in case it upsets members of certain faiths.

I absolutely guarantee that if I was still working ham would become my favorite lunch.

Let’s see we are worried about whether someone is offended over a sandwich, but the ACLU wants to sue Catholic hospitals because they don’t want to kill babies.

Offended by a sandwich:
This MUST NOT happen!

Catholics don’t want to kill a baby:
Kill the baby or be sued, the monsters don’t care if you’re offended.

“Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.”

First of all, let me explain to those who may not work for a larger company what an "office refrigerator" is. Basically most medium-to-large offices have a break-room (sometimes called lunch room or cafeteria) where a refrigerator is provided for employees who bring lunches from home to store them.

That said, after 30 years of working in such companies, my recommendation is that you NEVER use them! You are better off going to the food truck outside or going to a local restaurant or deli for your lunch. Or as last resort, bring a lunch that does not need refrigeration.

That is because the office refrigerator is a seething hotbed of Machiavellian intrigue in which co-workers will eventually accuse you of stealing their tuna fish sandwich or substituting their yogurt with one that has an expired "best by" date on it. The possibilities of being accused of something are endless.

But that's not even the worse part. The office refrigerator is probably the most unsanitary part of the entire workplace. Think of your eccentric aunt with the 30 cats who wraps all her leftovers in tin foil and shoves them into the refrigerator. Then multiply the smell by 10x and that approximates the smell of the office refrigerator.

For those who work in large corporations, how many times have you gotten the memo that you need to have everything out of the refrigerator by 5pm on Friday? That is because on Saturday morning, they bring in the men in haz-mat suits to clean the thing out.

Will CoExist House recommend that water fountains and food kitchens be closed for Ramadan? Don’t want the non-Mulsims insult the Muslims be eating and drinking during Ramadan.

CoExist House.
CoExist?!?!

It reminds me of the bumper sticker that is in response to the “CoExist” bumper sticker.

It's hard to coexist when one of the symbols of “faith” wants to kill the other ones.

I don’t usually cook food at work, but we do have microwaves. I just got a sudden craving for the smell of microwave bacon. Yum.

It is not stupidity at all. It is a deliberate attempt to push Christianity out and it is working.

If I don’t feel like drinking an alcoholic beverage at a social event, I don’t. I choose 7-UP or water but I certainly don’t feel offended if anyone does choose those
beverages.
