"I want to talk about pretending," Stephen Colbert said on last night's episode of The Late Show, which aired just a little over 24 hours after the regon shooting. "That is something that I know a little bit about."

The last time I watched "The Late Show" Steve Allen was the host.

Never heard of this Colbert creep.

The only way to eliminate car accident deaths is to ban cars, and the only way to eliminate gun violence is to ban guns. Both are non-starters.

Steve Allen, after expressing an opinion:

"On the other hand, I could be right."

you’re claiming everything wrong on earth is the fault of liberalism- i agree and in post two point to never ending liberal craphole cities where people complain about the situation they live in but continue to elect the same left wing liberals...

and i prefaced it by using a liberals (colbert’s) quote; “One of the definitions of insanity is changing nothing and pretending something will change.”

Actually CBS is quite happy with him.

His ratings are close to Fallon’s on NBC and his audience skews younger than Letterman’s did and lower than Fallon’s which is what advertisers want.

Simply put, while there is evil in this world, the citizens of the USA will never relinquish their firearms. No debate, no discussion. Just the sound of a bullet being chambered.

only way to eliminate gun violence
==
Eliminating guns eliminates guns, not violence.

Next is knife violence, and minus the knives gives

Baseball bat violence, and minus the bats gives

Pointed stick violence, and minus the stick ...

Dang, still have the violence.

Colbert was such a cute fellow when he was a kid. How on earth did he become so demented?

He seems the same when he is being himself” as when he was playing the fake Bill O’Reilly character he used to play.

He’s a greasy, smirking little four-eyed ****.
If/when the SHTF, before I lend a hand to anyone in trouble I’m going to make time to first ask,
“So. What do you think of Steve Colbert?”
Think fast pilgrim.

For now. Fallon will win out in the long run. This guy is all but insufferable.

Besides. I could care less as I don’t watch TV much anymore and prefer Kimmil or Fallon anyway

His brother was a teacher in the area in which I live. Never met him, nor did our kids take any of his classes, but I always heard good things about his brother the teacher.

Let me qualify the above by saying ... Colbert’s humor is almost by definition “puerile”. It’s the same way he ran his old show, it appeals to smart-a**, know-it-all kids.
But most of us grow out of that stuff. So if the person in trouble is between 30-50 I’ll pose the question. G-d looks after drunks, fools and teenagers, so I suppose we should too.

"Besides. I could care less as I don’t watch TV much anymore and prefer Kimmil or Fallon anyway."

Kimmel is almost as bad as Colbert, i.e., very political and not very funny. Last week, he was making fun of Kim Davis in a very crude and juvenile way.

He’s never been funny. Good comedy has to have an element of truth to it. He misses the mark every time due to his warped, false liberal perspective on reality.
