Lionheartusa1 believes that Michael Moore is a fat moronic loser . Now I have spared Trump from having to say it .
I’m not going to be derogatory about Moore, though that would be easy.
Instead, I have a simple question: If he believes that Trump would lose, andhe ddoesn’t want him elected, then why not just keep quiet and let the Republicans make that mistake? Better yet, why not encourage Republicans to nominate him?
To me the answer is simple: he really thinks that Trump will win.
I am no fan of Trump, but I know he CAN win. Never in my 44 years of life have I seen the American so pissed off at the way things are going, more angry than in 1980 or 1992.
Their animosity is directed at Republicans and Democrats.
Trump has no deep ties to either party. He is saying the things that are a majority of the peoples mind that they are afraid to say. Although he is a shameless self promoter, he exudes confidence. His campaign slogan says it all, “Make America Great Again”. The like the confidence and optimism. Trump represents their anger at the establishment. This is why he CAN win.
Moore is the coarsest, grossest troll. He’s not there to convince anyone by argument or reason or logic. Here’s there to dispirit by dragging conservatives into the depths of wearisome deviltry.
By definition, the crap moore produces are not documentaries, he wouldn't know the truth if was inside a Twinkie.
Trump’s circumstances are fortuitous.
If conservatives are smart they will figure out how to fit into the area of Trump’s coattails. He’s painting the large, broad strokes. They will have ample room to fill in details if they can get off the dime of bellyaching how Trump himself is heterodox.
They are mockumentaries... not just mock documentaries, they are made for the purpose of mocking.

Then throw in the Bradley effect where union members and other usual democrat voters, vote for Trump and say they didn’t.
Trump’s tax cut will slice off a lot of rat voters in the privacy of their voting booth.
It still begs the question of why doesn’t he let the Republicans make a mistake. He has the characteristics that you mentioned, but even he should have some rational self interest.
He isn’t rational any more than the devil is in the end (the devil would just sit and quietly pout in order to keep hell from being any worse).

I agree. I’m very conservative, generally being somewhat to the right of Ghengis Khan, but I am also old enough to know that it is either sheer luck or an actual miracle if you get everything you want in politics. Patton was right: the perfect is the enemy of the good. I only wish that more people here would understand that. The Dems could never have gotten as far as they did in destroying our nation over the last 50 years if they had insisted on an all or nothing package deal...they took what they could get when they could, and then moved to the next item on their agenda. We could learn a lot from that.
One might almost say that the liberal pride was humbler than the conservative pride, if one can use such a paradox.
Where you want to be, and how you intend to get there, could be two different critters entirely.
