‘Invasive’ High School Survey Asks Students How Many Guns Their Families Have, Why They Have Guns
Daily Caller ^ | 9/30/15 | Emma Colton

In a classroom exercise that has ignited outcry from the public, students at a Texas high school were given a questionnaire asking if their families owned guns, why their families owned guns and how their parents lean politically.

Called The Hawk 2015 Gun Survey, an estimated 100 students in a journalism class at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, Texas were given the survey in an attempt to start a dialogue on the Second Amendment. Instead, parents and Second Amendment activists across the country labeled the survey as “invasive.”

I think that the person/teacher/administrator/political operative who handed this survey out to students under the guise of a learning aid for classwork should be publically named.

I think besides condemning the premise and invasion of parents’ privacy and rights under the Second Amendment is a
CRIMINAL action as well as on exacerbated by the fact MINORS were being used to aid in the act.

NAME THEM! Full name, job status, and so forth so the lawyers for plaintiff parents don’t have to sue the school system to get them.

how could you steal EVERY word i was going to write?

but i’ll add some more. give out a form in the bronx, asking the kids how many fathers and stepfathers they have, what social welfare items they’re on. how many of your uncles are drug addicts or in jail?

i could add a lot more.

Fire those who started that survey. If I were a kid I would trash that survey right in front of them.

It is NONE of the schools damn business, one way or another. Rationalize it all they want, its NOT THEIR BUSINESS! End of story.

I would simply turn it sideways and write in bold;

HAVE YOU NOW OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY?

in an attempt to start a dialogue on the Second Amendment...

When anyone says they want to start a dialog, it means shut up, they want to lecture you.

The bet thing to do in this circumstance, as my colleague recommends, is to NAME them. Name this teacher!

This is a good opportunity to teach the kids a different lesson

About govt intrusion into the private lives and rights of themselves and their families, and how to respond

It is AGAINST the law for the Federal Government to create and maintain a “gun registry”. This action in effect is a quasi-governmental end run around that. Further, the type and extent of questions it asks is far more injurious to the individual’s freedoms because it adds other descriptive character that could be used as a tool to deny the right to own and keep guns.

As a prime example, using a student’s answers about his/her feelings about the guns as a means to claim there is a potential child abuse/violence or other harmful situation for the child.

To me, it is a prison level offense, frankly. I want NAMES.

Fire those who started that survey. If I were a kid I would trash that survey right in front of them.

Maybe 15 years ago, in middle school, my kids were given a rather extensive sex 'n' drugs survey, which they were smart enough to treat as a joke. One of the questions asked about sexual experiences, to which one of their friends wrote in, "Do animals count?"

Surveys like this have the side effect of diminishing respect for authority among the more aware youth.

So many possible questions...

Are there alcoholic beverages in your home?
Have your parents ever let you drink alcohol?
Do your parents ever drive under the influence?
Is there pornography in your home?
Do your parents use marinuana or illicit drugs?
Have your parents ever hit you or a sibling?
Do your parents text while driving?
Do your parents exceed speed limits?

So we’ve maybe got 10 more years, 15 tops, before there is a “Total Prohibition of guns.” The goal of the survey is clearly stated. This is how indoctrination works. For evidence, look at how quick the tide turned on gay marriage.

Parents should train their children to answer, “I really have no idea.”

I can see that the problem is that these sort of questions are pushed at the kids unexpectedly. So the parents are not forewarned.

It is insidious, and a way for the BIG GOVERNMENT types to get access to knowledge about every home in the school district.

“HAVE YOU NOW OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY?”

Now, that’s a good start.

IMHO
