House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy is pitching himself for the role of the next speaker of the House and says hes the leader who will know how to pick his battles and bring everyone to the table.
McCarthy laid out his vision for the speakership Tuesday in an interview with CNNs Jake Tapper on The Lead, saying he wouldnt shy away from a fight, but he wouldnt enter one that was futile.
Im willing to fight but I want to fight to win, McCarthy said when asked about the call by some Republicans to force a government shutdown fight in an effort to defund Planned Parenthood.
McCarthy said he supports a bottom-up approach to leading, where Republicans first put forward their policies and plans, use committees to do the groundwork, and then let that effort result in winning a vote on a policy.

The California Republican, who is currently John Boehners No. 2, has a large base of support in his effort to win the speakership and is the clear front-runner for the position.

He has been conducting a disciplined outreach effort to recruit support for his run, and hes positioning himself as an inclusive leader.
(snip)
He continued to say that the culture hed set as speaker is that everybody gets a voice even the opposing side.

No, but a vow to repeal Obamacare or defund it by any means possible, a promise to destroy any attempt amnesty, a commitment to defund planned infanticide, and reek destruction on the hopes and dreams of socialists would do for basics.
Depends on the definition of “win”, Kevin.
True. That was why a number were recently elected to do exactly those things and to enforce our immigration laws and secure our border.
I’m just so tired of the traitors who surrender to the democrats without an attempt to obstruct their idiocy. I just pray there’s a way we can turn it around via elections. I couldn’t support someone who isn’t ready to vigorously pursue shutting down the left at every turn.
