Years ago a lot of us here were urging his impeachment, but according to the resident Treebeards: “Ohhh, let’s not be hasty little Hobbits, let’s concentrate on electing good people” ...
So hey, what did we know?

We were just birther loonies/

Russia is taking air superiority over Syria’s territory, re-establishing Syrian Sovereignty. And will they enforce it? You betcha.

The USA must either fight or get out....for good.

Turkey has been rather hesitant to live up to their NATO commitments lately, IMHO.

You are correct. Which makes Turkey opting out of NATO at some point in the future (perhaps even the near future) more likely than not.

What would you recommend as the U.S. response?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

With Obama in office? Get out of Syria. We do not have the necessary command personnel to engage Russia militarily.Russia is not fighting ISIS. Russia is fighting anyone who is a threat to Assad. Big difference.

“I thought ISIS and the Saudis are at odds.”

Yes and no. ISIS and Sauds are both Sunni Muslim and therefore anti Iran who are Shi’a Muslims, and thus both of their enemies. However, ISIS would like to take over Saudi Arabia that they consider to not be fundamentalist enough and they want to control the holy site of Mecca. So it’s a very mixed bag for Saudi Arabia. I think the Sauds will be secretly relieved if Russia removes the ISIS threat for them without their having to have their fellow Sunni fingerprints on the dirty deed.

At this point, impeachment won't do it and we all know that.

It will take military intervention by as many officers who still believe in, and are willing to uphold their Oath to defend the Constitution from "all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC.

Russia gave arms to Syria who per this Heritage foundation article, assisted Saddam’s regime against the war effort in Iraq. Those are the people who went on to be a big part of ISIS.

Russia has given arms to Syria for many years; also, your mention of the Syrian regime's involvement in the bombing of U.S. Marines is the first I've heard. What source to you have for that?

Also....I'm not a Putin backer, but his forces are entering Syria and enabling that country's government to take the fight to ISIS. And face it.. as our failed, pathetic, feckless, half-hearted attempts to galvanize meaningful opposition proved, there ARE no alternatives to the Assad regime. Much as I despise Bashar Assad, his secular regime essentially left the Christian communities to function in Syria.

If this country had an actual leader it would -- as we did in WWII in concert with Stalin -- find common cause with the Russians and coordinate an effort to push ISIS into a tightly controlled pocket along the Iraq-Syria border and then exterminate it. Had we sought to do this months ago, Europeans (and soon Americans) wouldn't be facing a forcible migration of a million jihadis into their countries.

The additional Russian presence is a symptom of Obama's horrendous failure in the region. Really now -- $500 million to train FIVE PEOPLE? A real American leader would've pressed for a serious, combined effort with countries in the region, along with the Kurds to extricate those animals, but Obama refuses to aggressively move to counter ISIS' expansion.

Yes, it's distasteful the Russians are there, and it's unnerving that they're allying with Iran and Hezbollah... but unfortunately America can't lead anymore and that absence of leadership created a vacuum that Putin was all too ready to fill.

Russia has and still has a higher rate of Abortion.

Yes it does. A remnant practice from the Soviet era. Nobody is more acutely aware of the demographic crisis in Russia than the Russians themselves. They are certainly doing far more than we are to combat the evil. Even if it's only for practical purposes. But I suspect there is a moral dimension to it as well.

But it’s not the Muslim population and everyone knows Russia could easily demographically become a Muslim nation for your trash.

So what are you saying? Are you saying that it would be in US national interests to support a policy of abortion amongst the Muslim population? Well, if that's the only way we can defeat the Muslim horde then they can have it all. I'm not willing to throw my lot in with evil pro-abortionists to ensure the continued dominance of American foreign policy.

Welcome to Islamic Russia JPX if you are going to talk that slop.

And that may even be the final result of Russia. It is certainly possible that what Putin and the Russians are trying to accomplish can only be described as, "too late." If that's the case then so be it. They deserve their fate. Once again the demonstration of liberal policies leading to national death.

You are (sadly) correct. However ISIS is a threat to Assad, which makes Putin's declared intentions to take on ISIS completely logical.

I expect the rules of engagement for Russia will be much looser AND anti-ISIS, unlike that of 0bama.

Israel appears to be siding with Russia on this. I would say you need to rethink your stance.

Catch up...fight the Russians or get out for good.In the old days we would tweak the Russian nose and continue our sorties ( which are useless BTW)

Obama couldn’t do anything except bomb the innocent like he did in Libya. We should not be risking our soldiers in any Obama fight, he is just so really disloyal to America and the military.

Now is the time to get out of Syria until we have a C in C worthy of the role.

“This is one way Obama can try to overstay his visit in the WH. Start a war.”

I made this very prediction in June of 2014. Here is the text of what I wrote at that time:

If you WANTED another terrorist attack on US soil, what would you do?

1. Publicly rebuke Isreal, sending a clear message to the islamofascists…..Done already by John Kerry!
2. Take passive approach with terrorist regimes…..Done consistently by this admin with Libya, Syria, etc.
3. Remove US military might from terrorist strong-holds….Done with removal of troops from Iraq, now we see it being re-taken by terrorists.
4. Allow Iran to enrich uranium which can be weaponized……done earlier this year.
5. Open the borders to allow anyone to enter….happening now.
6. Release known high level terrorist scumbags back to their home region, allowing them to re-enter the planning to attack the US….Check.
7. Demoralize our fighting men and women…..It has been happening consistently with this administration but has been accelerating with the VA treatment, the Sgt Tamareesi situation and now with the celebrating of the defector.

Now, why would anyone WANT a terrorist attack on US soil?

Imagine if it were to occur within the next 2 years....

Well, then you would have a reason for “delaying an election as you work hard to protect the citizens.” It isn’t as if this administration has a respect for the rule of law or anything, so why would they feel obligated to follow election laws….After all, imagine an event worse than 9-11 and then ask yourself if that could cause the populace to “cry for action.”

ISIS is a threat to Assad>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Not outside Syrian territory in Iraq. But Iran will soon take over Iraq. The Russians will have Syria as a base, and the Iranians will have Iraq as a base. The Saudis are shaking in their curly toed booties with wars in the South ( Yemen) and wars in the North ( Saudi Proxy ISIS versus Iraq and Russia.)!
The Saudis will soon have to enter this fight directly.

The end game for the Shi-ite take over of Mecca is shaping up.

Kerry ‘complains to Lavrov’ over strikes
Posted at 14.50

The US appears to be unhappy with Russia’s decision to launch air strikes. One official told the AFP news agency that Secretary of State John Kerry has complained to his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, saying the move “runs counter to their stated efforts of deconfliction and is not helpful to that effort”.
