“Putinista alrert, the headline does not say this, either it was changed or this is editorializing the article which is against forum policy.”

Just checked. The link for the story I posted has been changed. The link now goes to “Russia launches airstrikes in northern Syria,...”

Fox’s decision, not mine

Putin can have the middle east. We’re pretty energy independent at his point no matter how hard chairman obama tries to ruin it.

Russia has always had interests in Syria. It’s right next door, for heaven sakes. Putin has always backed Assad. We are the meddlers as he sees it. Let Putin get rid of ISIS. Russia had influence and trade with Syria before ISIS and will have it after ISIS is out of Syria too. What Putin gets out of all this is a warm water port in Syria. That’s very important to him.

Pretty accurate assessment, except I don't think Vlad wants the mad mullahs to actually get the Bomb.

Oh I agree, Putin is basically giving the mullahs lip service so far as 'assisting' them with their nuclear program, I'm convinced that the Russians would pull the Persian rug right out from under them if they thought they were on the cusp of having a working nuclear weapon.

re: a second American Revolution. I fear that may yet happen. I really fear it.

We all seem to have that inner, quiet 'understanding' that our Republic has been near-fatally wounded, and those responsible are going to do anything and everything to hold on to their illegally aggregated political power because they KNOW that the smoldering wrath of We The People is likely to translate into nooses up and down Constitution Avenue, and the traitors to our Nation will be held accountable.

After a proper indictment, trial and conviction of course.

This upcoming 2016 election will tell the tale.

From jpost quoting Fox earlier today:

“Russia has demanded that American warplanes exit Syrian airspace immediately, a US official told Fox News on Wednesday.

The official said that Russian diplomats sent an official message to the US ordering American planes out of Syria, adding that Russian fighter jets were now flying over Syrian territory, according to the report. “

Russia Iran and Iraq have set up a coordinating center in Baghdad
So Iraq is in Putin’s anti islamic state coalition along with Syria, China, Iran
I believe obama could have retained a US footprint in central Iraq, with Russia and Syria to the west and Iran to the south
But obama was too weak, and too untrustworthy to do so
So again, Putin fills the leadership vacuum
I wonder when Iraq will order the US military air to leave ?

That is some fine analysis FRiend.

I would not be surprised if Iraq's continued participation in Putin's anti-ISIS alliance was made contingent on Iraq ordering all U.S. forces out of their country, something Iran would not at all object to.

So, when does Turkey quit allowing US warplanes to use their bases and airspace?

Putins father was an atheist. Communist. His mother othodox Christian. After a house fire and accident Putin became a devote Christian.

That’s more than we can say about. O. Devote is key word

Our carriers enter the Dardinelles like the British tried in WW I and the mine field goes up behind them.

You know your history FRiend. And history is always prone to repeat itself "if we fail to learn from the mistakes of the past".

Our carriers would be sitting ducks in such a situation. And to lose a carrier would result in only a two-option response, the first to GTFO with our tail tucked between our legs, OR to escalate with tactical nukes. I say tactical nukes because any less of a response would have little credibility. And at that point, there is no telling how far things could go.

The U.S. hasn't lost a carrier in combat since the U.S.S. Bismarck Sea (CVE-95) in the closing months of World War II in 1945.

I'm sure reviving that sad tradition would put a tingle in Barky's leg,
that America-hating sonuvabitch.

So, when does Turkey quit allowing US warplanes to use their bases and airspace?

I don't know. However such a decision would probably be based upon whether or not Turkey believed that it was best to "go with the big guy" which unfortunately would be Putin and the Russian forces he is prepared to commit.

That would most likely mean that Turkey would be prepared to withdraw from NATO, something never believed likely but in the absence of American influence and leadership over the past 6+ years, it can't be ruled out.
