John Boehner’s Exit Will Cost Mitch McConnell a Kindred Spirit (awwwwwww!!))

WASHINGTON — More than a year before a difficult election cycle when he will be challenged to hold on to his hard-won Republican majority, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky may have already suffered his most significant loss — the pending departure of Speaker John A. Boehner.

Over the past six years, the two Republican leaders have developed a bond of the type that has not always existed between House and Senate leaders of the same party, figures who are often pulled in opposite directions.

More important, Mr. McConnell and Mr. Boehner agreed that engaging in the kind of brinkmanship that led to a government shutdown two years ago as well as the threat of a federal default on financial obligations was unacceptable as well as damaging to the Republican Party and its electoral prospects.

Now, faced with defending Republican seats in a presidential election year in such potentially difficult states as Florida, Illinois, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, Mr. McConnell is convinced that Republicans must avoid disruptions that can make them look incapable of governing.

Given the legislative uncertainty in the aftermath of Mr. Boehner’s retirement, Mr. McConnell is hoping for one more act with the speaker, by pushing with Mr. Boehner to resolve some pressing issues before he exits at the end of October.

What they mean is, that McConnell has been deprived of someone who will go along with his insidious plans, and has lost someone with a similar visceral hatred of conservatives, and who willingly used his enormous power to thwart them.

There are lots of republicans with a similar visceral hatred of conservatives in the Congress and Senate. The turtle will still get some love, even if he lost his Boner.

I think the GOP is going to wake up on the morning of NOV 9 2016 and wonder what happened to their presidential candidate and their majorities in the House and Senate.

Similar to 2012, they will point fingers at everyone except themselves.

They have lost someone who will take a dive for the Dems, and they don’t like it. McConnell is more than welcome to join his kindred spirit in retirement.

Don’t worry Mitch, you haven’t lost your kindred spirits! you still have Reid and Pelosi.

Fox News reported that McConnell wants to meet with Obama to pass a budget for the next TWO years. Guess Planned Parenthood is that important to them. Gotta keep those murdered babies eyes, brains and parts flowing to eager suppliers of “tissue.” (These liars used to call fully formed babies “blobs of tissue” until ultrasounds stripped away that lie.)

Mr. McConnell is convinced that Republicans must avoid disruptions that can make them look incapable of governing.

That is such a preposterous argument. If Republicans keep larding on more debt to destroy the nation (in cahoots w Dems), it conclusively PROVES beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are incapable of governing.

I’m not worried. Mitch and McCarthy will soon be joined at the hip.
