Vanity: Temporary Fix for the Malware warning page that is plaguing FR today

Posted on 09/27/2015 9:13:23 AM PDT by Maceman

I am finding that I got the malware page warning now every time I click on a link to the original source page.

However, I am finding this doesn't happen if you click from the link to the story from the main Forum page, rather than clicking on the link to the FR story page and then clicking to the original source link from there.

I'll be interested to know whether this solution works for anybody else.

I haven't seen this. I'm using Firefox on Windows 7. I have seen that type of warning on other sites but never here.

what browser are you using? What do you get when you select the Safe Browsing Diagnostic page (I do not get this)?

I am using chrome!

I haven’t taken the time to use the Safe Browsing Diagnostic page.

The Blaze is also getting the warnings now too. Not sure if it is intentional of Google or not. Many times if a site links to smaller sites with pop ups or if the site itself has popups it generates a negative warning at google.

Seems to happen to a LOT of conservative sites though..

Once I unchecked Firefox ‘Options->Security->Block reported attack sites’, I no longer get the message in the upper left link of the original post.

Just axed the middle-man, source link now goes straight to source. Should stop the Google shenanigans.

I have virus scanned more than once. I still get the problem.

Not every time, by the way.

I click many of these links and have yet to see the malware warning. maybe it’s because of the Linux I am using.
