New analysis from the Washington Post removes any doubt that the anti-Obama Birther movement was started in 2007 and 2008 by Hillary Clinton, her campaign, and her Democrat supporters.
As Breitbart News reported earlier this month, other left-wing media outlets, like Politico and the Guardian, had already traced the Birther movement back to Democrats and Ms. Clinton. Using his wayback machine on Wednesday, the Post’s David Weigel took an in-depth look at the origins of the false rumors that President Obama is a practicing Muslim who was not born in a America. Weigel’s reporting contains the final pieces of a very disturbing puzzle.
What Weigel found and re-reported was astounding, details many of us had forgotten or never heard of, including a 2007 bombshell memo from the Clinton campaign’s chief strategist.
What the left-wing Weigel left out of his reporting was even more astounding, including a documented confrontation between Clinton and Obama over the Birther issue, and video of Hillary herself stoking doubt about Obama’s Christian faith.
Because the Washington Post’s primary job is to protect Democrats, Weigel’s headline and conclusion are an objective lie. Despite the fact that what he uncovered (and chose to not cover) points directly to Ms. Clinton and her campaign, Weigel concludes she had nothing to do with the Birther movement. . .

The hillary campaign tried to make an issue of it, but it was shut down rather quickly as I recall.

Obama STARTED the rumors he was born in Kenya and might be a Muslim. Hillary was merely the first to exploit this politically. Until about 2006, Obama exploited it to sell his story.
The first public manifestation of the birther idea began when Barack Obama caused, or negligently allowed, his book agent to publish his biographical blurb, stating “Born in Kenya and raised in Hawaii and Indonesia...” He said nothing to contradict his bio, or numerous new stories that echoed the meme, for years. That does not prove or negate his claim; but, it’s rich to fault others for taking him at his word. Who’s to blame?: Obama.
Obama possibly claimed foreign birth or citizenship in college applications for admissions, financial aid, or other advantages. This remains an open question only because he has gone to great lengths to hide all his college records. Who’s to blame?: Obama.
Obama has written about his Muslim father, and about attending “Muslim school” in Indonesia as a child. He has characterized the Muslim call to prayer as the most beautiful sound on Earth. This is not proof that Obama was then or is now a Muslim, but makes his pretense to Christianity fair game. (I suspect he is an agnostic or atheist materialist who sympathizes with Islam based on his childhood experiences). Who’s to blame?: Obama.

He never cleared it up because either it was true and he knew he couldn’t prove otherwise, or it was concocted in order for him to take goodies as a foreign student (and later on to advance himself as far as his community organizing efforts, as a slimy lawyer, and his run for state senate).
But he reinforced it during an interview that I saw back when he was either running for the senate, or he was a newly elected senator.
The interviewer asked him if he would like to run for president in the future, and he said he wasn’t eligible.
Again, he’s a liar then and now, and he’s to blame — along with his minions.
I’ll also place blame on all the so-called journalists such as those at FOX who assured us over and over that he was born in the USA.
This is interesting, an attack on Hillary coming from the left.
And it presumes that Obama is what he claims to be.
I’ll bet this attack originated at the White House.
