Fox’s Roger Ailes to Sit Down with Donald Trump to Discuss Coverage
Mediaite ^ | September 24th, 2015 | Alex Griswold

Posted on 09/24/2015 11:03:59 AM PDT by monkapotamus

Only a day after Donald Trump announced that he was boycotting Fox News— and after Fox News announced they had cancelled him first– the network has announced that they will enter talks with Trump to discuss his concerns.

Below is the full statement, provided to Mediaite by a Fox News spokesperson:

Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes and Donald Trump spoke this morning and plan to have a meeting next week to discuss their differences of opinion regarding Fox’s coverage of Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign. Ailes will be joined by senior Fox editorial executives. Mr. Trump believes he has been treated unfairly in certain instances. FOX News has held every candidate in this race to the highest journalistic standards throughout our coverage. We believe a candid meeting about our differences is required and that any misunderstandings can be handled without compromising those standards.

“If he becomes POTUS, he’ll get LOTS of criticism and so far he’s demonstrating he can’t handle any.”

Really? It looks to me like he’s handling the criticism quite well. Those who have been doing the criticism are about to kowtow. Apparently you would prefer that he channel Mitch Mcconnell and stand around and wring his hands.

No, what you’re complaining about is not that he can’t handle criticism, but that he’s not surrendering to it.

Just two big ego people slapping at each other.

Can we be big boys and get back to the issues that are destroying our nation like Cruz is?

Or, are you two egomaniacs going to keep bitch slapping around.

You bought into the CNN manipulation First third was designed to put Trump in juvenile bickering by design of their questions. Thereby they could cover all the time he was given with non professional pival The secord third they gave substantial questions on policy to those they wanted to shine The third part was clean up. Trying to catch up to those they ignored or the general $10 dollar or other non relevant code name questions I didn't buy into anything. I listened to Trump...the format put forth by CNN is irrelevant. Trump ultimately has control of that podium and what he chooses to respond to and what he says. None of it was impressive.

who else running do you know who can go to Washington and totally implode those jackasses in both parties?.. The country is being destroyed by those people so fast we don’t recognize it anymore... if you have somebody in mind better than Trump to get the silent majority unleashed again to make this country great like it used to be again then feel to toss out that super candidate whomever that might be,, that person is not running now so it must be a secret.... I like Cruz but he’s not going to do it, neither is Fiorina or Carson.. so we’ll be waiting? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you understand how politics works? Trump is a big fish in his own pond in the business world. When he gets to Washington he has to deal with a legislative branch in which his vast fortune and name in gold letters carries exactly zero leverage. He's going to be a fish out of water and has shown no ability to deal with something like that very well.

fox bashers crawl out of the woodwork to raise their personal self esteem by being critical of balance

Likely that the Lowry statement might have changed some plans for reconciliation.

Or Trump could buy the network and then conduct one of the biggest RIFs known to mankind, percentage-wise. Guess there are a couple he might want to keep; don’t know.

“I’m blown away by everyone who continues to defend the thin skinned Trump.”

Are you f*king kidding me? He’s not thin skinned. He’s defending himself from criticism, as everyone has the right to do, and as we all should do. It sounds as if you’ve gone to the dark side after 30+ years of PC brainwashing where everyone has to be niiiice, no matter how badly we’re abused and wrongly accused. No! We don’t have to be nice. We have to take a stand and defend ourselves. We just have to deprogram the crap we’ve been fed for so long.

Trump is making me brave again. I’m in a social group where three of us are conservative and one is a raving liberal. The lib has had us cowed for four year by doing what libs do, loudly shutting us down and bullying us. Some issues are minor, e.g., we were discussing a project and I said it’ll take about 30 man hours to do. She corrected me, “You mean, ‘PERSON’ hours.” I changed the subject. The lib demeanor is so intimidating.

This week Obamacare came up. Another lady mentioned a truth about how bad a certain aspect of it is and I added my two cents. Lib Lady decreed in her condescending voice, “Now, we have to be careful what we say...” I interrupted her, “No. We don’t have to be careful what we say! We have opinions, too!” This time SHE shut up.

It was small but I was happy. I didn’t die. Doubt I’d have never responded if I hadn’t heard Trump not back down so many times.

Were either one of you one of the ones who used to get so mad because Bush wouldn’t defend himself against the media? I remember reading that time and time again on here. Now someone comes along who actually does, and well I might add, and now he needs to shut up?

Some of you can never be pleased. Or you just hate Trump and your hypocrisy just slipped out.

Well, thin skin or not, I think most freepers agree that it is refreshing to watch a candidate “on the right” of the political spectrum finally see the leftists media for what is (the enemy!) and call them out each and every time!

Gradually, and you can see it already, these little lefty reporters are beginning to behave themselves AND other candidates, watching Trump, are beginning to find their balls too.

So, all in all, Trumps combativeness with the press is a good thing! They are long over-due for a REAL challenge!

I didn’t know this crap about iCarly’s “family”, but it goes to a decided lack of character.
