Fox’s Roger Ailes to Sit Down with Donald Trump to Discuss Coverage
Mediaite ^ | September 24th, 2015 | Alex Griswold

Posted on 09/24/2015 11:03:59 AM PDT by monkapotamus

Only a day after Donald Trump announced that he was boycotting Fox News— and after Fox News announced they had cancelled him first– the network has announced that they will enter talks with Trump to discuss his concerns.

Below is the full statement, provided to Mediaite by a Fox News spokesperson:

Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes and Donald Trump spoke this morning and plan to have a meeting next week to discuss their differences of opinion regarding Fox’s coverage of Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign. Ailes will be joined by senior Fox editorial executives. Mr. Trump believes he has been treated unfairly in certain instances. FOX News has held every candidate in this race to the highest journalistic standards throughout our coverage. We believe a candid meeting about our differences is required and that any misunderstandings can be handled without compromising those standards.

Up until the last debate I was open to Trump. Not sure what to make of him, but open nonetheless. I was the guy laughing at Krauthammer and Kristol, watching their elitist forehead veins popping.

But something about that last debate and the way he has conducted himself since then has really turned me off to him. He let’s everyone get under his skin. He lies about the intent of his attacks on people, ie he was talking about Carly’s persona...and he even tucked his balls up into his thighs when he told her she was beautiful...which made me cringe for him.

I still think Krauthammer and Kristol are elite douchebags but I also think Trump is nothing more than a shiny object catching the attention of rightfully bored and pissed off gop’ers.

“If he indeed said this, I’m pleased to hear it.”

He said it numerous times.

There is a dirty little secret. The average voter out there in the TODAY world doesn’t care about foreign policy too much. Hate to tell ya that.

Notice also how NBC/Univision has slinked away.

Whorehey Ramos has disappeared.

NBC gave their half of Miss America to Trump which means they were in a seriously weak position.

I notice that business boycotts of Trump have vanished.

And Trump keeps calling the shots. What a man!

The MSM needs to be pummeled and attacked until they cannot get up again. They are dishonest rats.

Here's Trump's website, in case you haven't been there yet. Share it with your teenage daughter. Tell her to look under "Positions"...

I prefer to read Trump the candidate in 2015. I’m not the same person I was 4 years ago. you arent. Trump isn’t. A lot has happened.

re: Her (Megyn Kelley's) most absurd question to Cruz

She and a lot of the others ask things that have nothing to do with a mission of being serious journalists. It's all about them and the talking points of the agenda they're supposed to promote.

Trump has been confronting the status quo, head on, like no one ever thought possible. What's waking US citizens up is how out of hand it gets when someone actually did so.

Did Bush do a lot of things we liked very much? I appreciated his Iraq War efforts. Many Conservatives don't. You set that aside, Bush was a disaster.

I never could understand the posters who love George W. but hate Jeb. They're cut from exactly the same cloth, and Jeb's Presidency would be exactly like a non-consecutive 3d term for W.

Will Trump wind up being a disaster? I dont' believe that for a moment.

I don't trust Trump and see many of his newly minted conservative views to be the sign of a opportunism rather than conviction, but I'm confident that he would be a better President than the establishment favorites (Hillary and Jeb). That's not setting the bar very high, unfortunately, but it is what it is.

Fair point.

But there is no need for total specifics now. There is a long way to go yet to Super Tuesday, and then the real fun begins.

But as far as specifics go, tell your daughter we already have his immigration plan, and his support for the Second Amendment.

Next week comes the tax policy paper.

Everything doesn’t get released at once.

As far as the other candidates, everything is a response to Trump or typical political blather—no real specifics—and that includes the flavor of the week, iCarly.

And Fox viewers....WE THE PEOPLE....are to just believe the tripe the channel spews forth to help in The Donald’s return? What makes ANY of the believe we would once again turn their channel to view anything now that they have shown their true colors? Just because the wolf takes off the sheep’s costume does not indicate he is no longer a wolf. Have at them Donald...WTP do not care for them nor their ilk. There are alternatives and you, sir, know what these might be. Let the chickens stew in their own pot.

CNN gave Trump an entire half hour this morning.

Alysin Cammerota (ex-Fox reporter) was very fair but also tough and they had a very wide ranging conversation.

I now watch CNN and MSNBC and Bloomberg more since the 8/6 Fox debate.

I used to watch Fox and Fox Business solely.

No more.

The mask is off.
