I remember in my youth the many discussions us kids had about what a TV 'machine' would look like. We got a small black & white one in the mid-50's.

I don't watch TV anymore either. I even watch football games on the internet.

There is an episode of Star Trek where the Enterprise goes back in a time warp to the year 1968 and ends up beaming aboard a fighter pilot from that era.

He asks Mr. Spock what they have on television in the future, and Spock replies “that particular form of entertainment did not survive much beyond the start of the 21st. Century.

We all used to sit around and watch TV as a family. There were only three stations, and we had to horse trade with one another to decide what we would watch. Then, in 1967, we got a COLOR TV. Talking about living large. Cable killed the family communal TV experience.

The internet/streaming is the future, and television broadcasters need to get that through their thick skulls.

Personally, we still watch television, but there is getting less and less that’s appealing to watch. So much of it is pushing leftist agendas and themes. As we know at FR, that the news outlet is the most fraught with liberal dogma.

People are SICK of all the BAD NEWS brought on by 7 years of a Marxist Muslim gay illegal alien president.

Also, people are SICK of males being portrayed as WEAK and having female penises shoved down their throats in just about EVERY show on TV.

But will they change? Will they create programs that don’t relentlessly mock America, traditional values and Christianity? Will they offer more than token wholesome shows? Will they stop infesting their shows with extreme Liberal propaganda? No. So the decline will continue.

Watched about 5 minutes of NCIS New Orleans last night. The theme of the program was something about rightt wing militia groups blah, blah, blah. Clicked it off. NCIS was decent, otherwise those shows are the only TV I’ve watched in 3-4, months.

TV has become a liberal propaganda tool on EVERY stinking show.

The QUALITY of TV fell off a cliff several decades ago.

I surfed into “Two Broke Girls” on two different days this week. No more than 2 min each. Was absolutely stunned both times. TV is ugly today, VERY ugly.

Depends on what you call “TV”.

We HAVE a “TV”, but we mainly just use it as a dumb monitor (but a NICE BIG dumb monitor), mostly for streaming stuff from Netflix via ROKU. A bit of football in season and a rare appointment TV show or two like “Walking Dead” or “Bering Sea Gold”.

“TV networks were stuffing their airwaves with commercials in an attempt to prop up revenue. That report said ratings were down 9% over the prior year through July with ad loads correspondingly increasing by 10%.”

Death spiral. And that’s a VERY good thing because those being killed are a significant part of the kommie media.

The drug dazed TV execs are too stoned to realize the basic problems.

1)They keep increasing the ad load, which drives viewers away. And if they can’t sell ads, they use the time to run ads for their other unwatchable shows. A less than 2 hour movie may come with 40 minutes of ads now.

2) Pop up ads. They started with watermark logos on the screen, which was understandable. Then they went to opaque logos that blocked some of the image. Now, they have pop-up ads that may obscure close to a third of the screen, blocking what you are trying to watch. Can they really be stupid enough to think that that would be a good idea.

3) Unpleasant viewing experience. Ads that blast out. Compressing and speeding up the end credits (yep, some folks like to view the credits on some presentations).

IF there was something to watch on television, then more people would watch.

Personally not interested in watching Liberals, homos, distorted reality, and unfunny alleged comedy, Dancing with what stars?, or any other such mediocrity.

99.9% of TV shows are utter dreck and 99.999999999% of commercials are stupidity squared. It’s a wonder ANYONE watches ANYTHING on broadcast media anymore.

Other than sporting events, TV is horrible. There must be 50 shows a week with women being raped and murdered, which passes for entertainment. Then there’s the Leftist propaganda ladled into every talk show. We only watch the local news and sports.
