The parents of a baby boy who died after ingesting heroin were indicted in the childs death, officials said.
A grand jury in Columbus, Ohio indicted Denise Dickinson, 32, and Kyle Black, 29, in the death of their 11-month-old son, Dominic Dickinson, who was found dead in their Columbus home in May, Franklin County prosecutor Ron OBrien told INSIDE EDITION.
Authorities initially believed Dominic may have died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) as he was discovered in a playpen surrounded by blankets by paramedics responding to a call of a child not breathing, the Columbus Dispatch reported. But the child was later found to have ingested heroin and fentanyl, a powerful painkiller, OBrien said, noting that drug paraphernalia was found in the home.

Can’t help but not state the obvious when it comes to drug users.
This is the result of drugs and the supposedly “victimless crime of drug use”.
Stupid criminal behavior is never a victimless crime.... on that I think we can agree
That would be true if the only criminal statutes on the books were against acts that have unwilling victims; sad to say, that is not the case. Leaving heroin where a child can get at it is an act that has a victim - but the heroin laws are much broader than that.
When childless people use drugs, is there a victim? I can't see any. If there is a victim, is there also a victim when childless people use the drug alcohol - and what should be the public policy conclusion from that?
Mind-altering drugs (legal/illegal) always have victims, all you have to do is read the news to see for yourself.
Or do you not care and just want it all legalized?
Mind-altering drugs (legal/illegal) always have victims, all you have to do is read the news to see for yourself.
I'm not sure what you mean here by "always" ... every time any person consumes an alcoholic beverage, that act has a victim? I definitely haven't seen that in the news.
you try waaaaay to hard
You already do

PATCHOGUE, NEW YORK -- A 37-year-old man was arraigned Wednesday on child-endangerment charges after one of two toddlers he was baby-sitting was found drunk, authorities said.
Suffolk County sheriff's deputies investigating a family court case peered through the window of a Patchogue home Tuesday and said they saw Juan Reyes passed out with the children wandering around.
They roused Reyes, who was the only adult at home with the two toddlers, ages 2 and 3, according to the sheriff's office. The deputies said Reyes appeared intoxicated.
The deputies also said the 2-year-old was having difficulty standing, had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. Tests at a hospital found he was legally drunk.
At the time of incident, the children's parents were at a hospital, where the mother was giving birth.
