I am lucky to have memories like that! My dad had a way of bringing his memories to life. He said Yogi was as nice a guy in person as on TV.

Awww, damn....

Great guy. American icon from the American Era.

Between Yogi and Casey Stengel, they practically invented their own language...!

RIP, Yogi. Thanks for many good baseball memories.

“...the master of one-liners ...”

True that. Very sad to hear he’s passed.

RIP Yogi. Baseball players and fans all over the world are going to miss you for a long, long time. Those of us who were fortunate enough to have seen you play will never forget.

"..you see Son, not only was he a great baseball player, he was a veteran, a Dad, a husband,...he made people laugh, cheer, and remember. BUT HE NEVER FORGOT HIS FRIENDS..."When Phil Rizzuto became ill toward the end of his life, he was put in an assisted living facility, which was about 30 minutes away from where Yogi lived. And every single day, because teammates were important to him, he would drive there, and he would play cards with Phil. And then when Phil would start to fall asleep, Yogi would hold his hand and when Phil would finally go to sleep, that’s when Yogi would leave. Every day. That’s what teammates meant to him.

Not only did he rub elbows with the best, he was among the best himself. Most games in the World Series, most WS wins, 3-time WS MVP, most RBI’s in the WS among other records. All at one of the toughest positions - catcher.

RIP Yogi. You were the best.
